There "supporters" dont want to support them anymore? hehehe :D

They can have it, as long as every other party gets the same amount of money so they can compete effectively, or else they (ANC) can **** off...

Just let them delay it for 3 years please.

By then I'll be in Aus and they can stick this country exactly where they want to . . .

It appears their other money streams are not sufficient: travel vouchers, kickbacks bribes, Telkom dividends, etc.

Who will be able to stop them if they pass this legislation?

Each MP receives about R19 000 a month, including a constituency allowance, a parliamentary allowance and their contribution to a party leader allowance, but under the new proposal this would increase to about R50 000 a month.

WOW.. clearly it pays well to be in gov.. heck 19k is ALOT already, I mean ow much do university qualified people earn?

what is ridiculous is that there is no minimum requirement to be an MP. so a semi-literate moron can easily be an MP.

which is unfortunately the case at this point in time

Good f*n g0d. If you're not being supported by private funding any more, then something's clearly gone wrong, hasn't it?

The ANC needs to examine why businesses and individuals... particularly businesses... won't back them.

How on earth can the ANC be bankrupt? I know they're a 100% corrupt party but I thought the taxpayers could 'support' their spending sprees as well registration fees/company tax etc.

Eish...the gravy train needs a new surround sound system and solid gold toilets...they've already upgraded the engine so they can speed past the poor areas very quickly

Huh? Political parties are effectively the state. The tripartite alliance = the current government

"The South African parliament thus bears the burden of reflecting a stable, professional and truly democratic institution to the global community.

"An institution such as parliament therefore should be able to bear the glare of intense public scrutiny with dignity and decorum, as befits the highest office in the country."
Ooh ya - but's let rip the taxpayer a new one - while one of the largest industries in this country goes untaxed - and 3/4's of public servants are up for corruption and theft.

A more uncaring, inept bunch we could not wish to have (ooh and its going to get worse - 'cause zoooma will probably win the next election.)

The nats were a paradigm of virtue when we consider 18000 dead a year from violent crime - untold deaths from aids (who's counting) - and our latest scourge - ignored by Manto for years (she's too busy in her kitchen, working) -.

Wouldn't it be great if we had positive things to say of our government - but not. Woe betide the message bringer - it is one we would rather not hear (so let's send the press to the censorship board) - (and pretend nothings happening) - while we struggle for funds - because no one will support us anymore.

Right.
