ANC's Andile Lungisa loses appeal over water jug attack on DA councillor

Hehe, the next elections, if/when they take place will be very interesting.

Andile Lungisa charged for allegedly breaking lockdown regulations

Former ANC Youth League deputy president Andile Lungisa has been charged for allegedly contravening Level 4 Disaster Management Act regulations relating to gatherings.

He would appear in the Motherwell Magistrate's Court on Friday, said Eastern Cape police.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana could not reveal what gathering Lungisa attended but the politician was seen in viral videos last week with a group from the taxi industry denouncing public violence.

He told News24 he was not aware how he broke the regulations but confirmed the charge.

The former Nelson Mandela Bay councillor is now threatening to sue the state for allegedly accusing him of trying to overthrow the government.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Lungisa claimed he was summoned and interrogated by crime intelligence and the Hawks on Monday for allegedly plotting a coup.

He said police investigators charged he was opposing the incarceration of former president Jacob Zuma and he played a role in the apparent insurrection attempt.

Andile Lungisa forced to parade around Nelson Mandela Bay denouncing looting and violence

In what can only be described as a bizarre turn of events, former Nelson Mandela Bay councillor Andile Lungisa will have to publicly denounce lawlessness and violence while driving around the metro with taxi operators on Thursday.

The move, agreed to at a meeting between Lungisa, taxi industry leaders and ANC bosses on Wednesday afternoon, comes after he was accused of being behind attempts to loot at the Pier 14 Shopping Centre in North End and Kariega Shoprite in Binnehof.

Taxi operators, at the forefront of efforts to prevent destruction and looting of city businesses, backed Lungisa into a corner, demanding he puts his money where his mouth is in condemning violence of the sort seen in other parts of the country.

Jirr, as bizarre as it sounds im beginning to think we need a taxi association to run for election.

They have the power to intimidate and manipulate even the most corrupt convicted politicians to do what they say.

Of course he had but Cyril's hand is being forced by our dictator NDZ, in case you forgot already.
Impossible to forget when they shove a picture of her with every frikking article about lockdown.

Let's not forget Cyril set the precedent to forgive people this past week when it came to light he signed off on Jakey's release.

Cyril is just a small fish and we need to concentrate on bigger fish.
