I have made no secret on this forum of my fanboyish desire for the Galaxy Nexus, and my intention to purchase one as soon as it becomes available in this country (as long as the price isn't too outrageous).

Well, I saw the following case on Android Police today, and thought it was completely awesome:

What better companion for the Galaxy Nexus, the true Google phone, than an Android-theme case?

I wonder how much it would cost to import one (or three) of these?

Heh, well, I have an upgrade two months, so I'm just going to wait for that. I'm assuming by that point that point the GNex will be available through regular channels.

Isn't this cool though? This is how I want my next phone to look.

Its pretty awesome indeed. Hopefully we do have the GN on a decent contract come March... I'm in the same boat as you :)

I've had my Galaxy Nexus for a week now and really loving it, though the battery still struggles to last a whole day.
Just order one from handtec. Mine cost about 6.7k in total but insurance paid 5k of it.

Have you seen the Anandtech review? I was hoping this would be my next phone but after seeing that review I'm not too sure. My upgrade is in May so I'm hoping something better is out.

I have the Galaxy nexus and I can honestly tell you its the best phone I have used. What exactly are you dissapointed about from the review? the GPU?
there is thread about the GPU on xda..with varied opinions.

IMHO the concerns about GPU does not bother me one bit, the phone is fast and smooth and I have no problems with battery life.

That's the big killer for me. It's certainly a lot better than the other Android phone.

The Galaxy Nexus is so important again because it's the only time Google gets to dictate everything - the hardware, the software, and update timing. There's also the element of freedom, with unlockable hardware out of the box. I find myself wishing that Google had begun its adventure sticking it to the carriers with pentaband WCDMA support like this phone finally has, as that would've been much more successful than the practice of releasing a few different Nexus variants with different bands.

As far as Ice Cream Sandwich is concerned, it really is Android perfected. Everything is smoother, faster and nearly all of our issues with the OS have been addressed. ICS brings Android into 2012 and gives Google a great platform to begin to introduce new features going forward. Android is now very close to UI performance parity with iOS, which eliminates a major tradeoff you had to make in the past. If you were hoping for ICS to be iOS with a Google logo on it, you'll be sorely disappointed. However if you're a fan of Android and just wished it were smoother and more polished, Ice Cream Sandwich is what you've been waiting for.

Again, lets see what's out in May. Apparently HTC have a new phone coming out, hell Windows Mobile might be appealing by then :D
