Android phone unlocking attempts?

Hi all

I have a galaxy s7 and have no problem unlocking my phone using my fingerprint. The thing is, I have set a pin as my backup login method and for the life of me I can't remember my pin. I have entered two incorrect tries and don't want to lock the phone by attempting a third. So, the question is, if I unlock the phone using my fingerprint, does the pin login reset? i.e. do I have three new attempts? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there recently i had the same problem
Just go to settings>application manager>Samsung pay>storage>clear data
Hope this helps

Would a hard reset not clear it? After checking everything is backed up, that is.

I locked my S6 once and managed to unlock it when I signed by logging into google cant remember the exact steps but there is a way.
