Okay so im not alone with this.

activated showmax pro specifically for the WC, and its not streaming in 4k on my LG OLED.

Tried with the PC and xbox...only option is max bandwidth definitely not 4k

however,4k on dstv now (channel 216) is streaming perfectly ...however, someone is already using the 1 stream.

If i knew Showmax pro wasnt going to work, id have subbed to dstv now compact for r360 and got the WC channel.

Has anyone else managed to get showmax to stream 4k? what devices do I need

I am using an Apple TV 4K (the Showmax app was updated a week or so back).

I am surprised that Showmax(Multichoice) has not yet updated all the other apps, given the amount of advertising they have spent highlighting the 4K feature.

DStv pirate slapped with 7-year jail sentence

The Bellville Specialised Commercial Crime Court has sentenced a Capetonian man to seven years in jail for infringing MultiChoice's copyright by selling access to pirated DStv content.

The perpetrator — Jordan Lee Mott — was arrested in October 2020 by detectives of the Western Cape's provincial commercial crime unit.

It's a pity but I suppose that is to be expected within the law. That does not change the general market attitude towards DSTV. They will eventually perish as more of us show them that if they take us for granted we will disregard them!

It's a crime to sentence the man for piracy! He should have gotten an award!
