Found on XDA Developers Forum. Nice videos. Has a lot of valid points. Thought I would share. What's your views? No flaming/fanboyism please, normal, intellectual discussions.

So I was going to do a 6 part mini series but due to time things are on hold. However, I decided to at least get things rolling. Depending on the feedback I get I will either complete or scrap the project. Anyhow, next time this argument comes around Android VS iOS just post this video. Believe me, this was just the beginning of something really big!

Looks like a fanboy vid to me. His 1 point is: I can customize my droid.

Good for him.

Will agree that its a typical fanboy video but must say if customization was all you took from that video you are more brainwashed than most people around here ;)

The inter app/device communication is one big problem I find with iOS and it is clearly pointed out. Something that iOS try to overcome with iCloud but also brings its own limitations and problems. I still believe iOS should have implemented an iCloud like storage space on the device where apps could share data and synced that with the online version. It would have helped a hell of a lot in covering some of the issues people have with the OS.

Ok, that's enough of that. Back on topic.

Believe it or not I would have gotten an iPhone, so glad I did not.
I realize now that it is pretty "one-way" so to say. I like to tinker and customize.

On another note I can totally see why an iPhone is so popular. The masses are not as bright as many of us here on the forums, majority of people I know that use Android have no idea what it can and cannot do. Same with iPhone but the learning curve tends to be less-steep on iOS for a total newbie. That's what I have gathered in the past.

If only MIUI came stock on a flagship Android phone, that would be awesome for Android as it will "ease" many folks who are afraid of the unknown Android UI (to them). Unfortunately Apple would probably sue to hell and back and UI patents.

Not exactly flagship in the rest of the world but it does come stock with the Xiaomi Phone that sells like hot cake in Asia

That phone does not look bad at all, seems fairly solid. Now if only Samsung, HTC or Motorola did this on a top end phone and launch it world wide. Would be interesting to see how it sells.

Seems nice. Doubt if we will ever see it here though.

Pity because of the price range it covers(R 2 500) I am sure it would have competed nicely in our market as a Smart phone.

Long battery life and transflective LCD screen that works in direct sunlight would have helped as well in this "developing" market.

I agree...but what I have noticed from my side is that the Chinese brands...well...they just dont do well. The Huawei we released was a flop. Well, in the stores that I do anyway. I think that our customers have a natural suspicion of Chinese brands regarding quality etc. Even though I think that this MIUI phones looks great for that price and that it would complement the market well...I personally would not want it because it is a Chinese brand. Whether that is justified or not...dont know...but that is how I feel.

/Looks lovingly at my beautiful sexy RAZR next to me.

Samsung or Motorola etc would never use miui, that's like Samsung outing a phone with Sense or MotoBlur.

Although I'm a huge fan of miui, especially with a different launcher over miui. It makes an android phone responsive like ios.

Talking about responsive + alternative launcher.

Have you tried out Faster than Light launcher?
Pity about the app tray as I dont like the 3D setting but I must admit it is pretty dam responsive.

One of the biggest failures of ios & the iphone can be summed up in one word : itunes.

itunes is like the padlock on the gates of the Apple walled garden.

So? It's a very valid point.

So you can't customize your iOS and have to adhere to someone else's way of thinking.

Good for you.

You mean a central application that keeps all your music/videos/apps/photos/contacts synced and up to date across all your devices? Terrible.
