Well that’s it I have had it with iBurst.
Ordered my Adsl line today, now the hell will begin to try and cancel iBurst.

WHT, would you mind telling us which ISP/package/line you went with, and costs involved?

KThxBye.

I had G9 so my comparisons are with that:

Code:
Telkom Do3 (4MB line + 3GB ISP) R554
OpenWeb 30GB local R130
Telephone line rental R112
Total R796

Ok,

I took the Do Broadband Level 1 for now: 384Kbps @R199 + R111 line rental So it’s about R310 pm
The free modem with a self install has expired so I have to buy a modem but they are not that expensive about R400 for a very basic one.
If I hit the cap that I’m sure I will, just top up with a axxess voucher @R70 per gig which is much better than R199 per gig at iBurst.

Took the lowest package for now. Just to test it out and see how it goes will most probably upgrade later.
I also have this feeling 384Kbps will become 512Kbps in the future just as they did with the 192 offer.

So there is a total saving of R159 for me taking into consideration I don’t have a softcap anymore but not havening to deal with iBurst is just price less.

And then you have all the added benefits of being able to buy local only bandwidth and much lower pings for online games ect.

Edit: Pro intro @ R469 per month

Maybe you'll be lucky and have a "clean" break from their accounts department.

Just make sure you are up to date with all payments and then "load" the debit order at your bank to stop any debits in the future, also keep an eye on your bank statement in case iburst try putting through odd amounts as that will bypass the "loading".;)

Beats me why they'll go to such extreme lengths...

Good luck :)

Thanks. By the looks of things moving from a Pro Classic would enable one to go to at least 512K then. I must do some homework.

They go to such lengths as they are greedy sneaky blood sucking leaches who will go to any lengths to get as much out of any of their customers/ex customers as they can, I've said it before and saying it again....."this is the worst company I've ever had the misfortune to have had dealings with in my entire life".
