Antenna alternative for b315

What other antenna besides the xpol-6 can I use for rain on a b315? Or what other router can give me better speeds than the b315 without an antenna.

Depending on the model router you have and if it supports both bands rain uses ... 1800 and 2600

It does support band 41 if I force it, I get 3 bars and around 40mbps. I'm hoping maybe a better router that supports band 38/41 without forcing it can give me better speeds.

If the speeds aren’t good on 38 then it won’t be good even on a other router ... that’s my thinking if anyone no better it’s a friend I no on this MBB ... I’ll see if I can tag cavedog

Its probably just congested tower you need force brand 41 on the router and see if connects.

Then you can get better speeds by getting B618 or B525.

This was my experience.
I went from a B315 router to a B525 on Telkom LTE. Didn't see much improvement. Then considered getting either the B618 or a Poynting antenna (for the B525) but was worried about spending the money with no real benefit.
Luckily I managed to get a B618 router to test before buying one. It immediately doubled my speed. While chatting to a colleague, he mentioned that he was on Telkom LTE using a B525 with a Poynting antenna. I then asked him if he would test the B618 router (without Poynting antenna) at his place and compare it to his B525 (with Poynting antenna). He did several tests and in all cases the speeds were very similar. So eventually I just bought the B618 which I am now using with Afrihost MTN LTE.

Yes, you will but there are many other factors that determines the speed you get from LTE, like location of the towers, congestion and so on.
So I am with both Telkom LTE and Afrihost MTN LTE, with Telkom being service I've had for the last 4 years. It was only earlier this year that I started looking into Afrihost MTN. Before I registered with Afrihost, that is when I did the testing with the 2 routers. With Telkom, I was getting speeds anywhere between 5 and 12mb using the B525 and speeds generally doubled when using the B618. Now with Afrihost MTN, I am getting speeds between 37 - 50mb using the B618. I haven't tried the MTN sim in the B525 yet though but I am still using the Telkom sim in the B525. The Telkom contract will be expiring soon so I will probably just upgrade my Afrihost contract when this happens. Unfortunately Telkom speeds have degraded in the last few months.

Getting one for free ... But everyone is saying it’s not worth it but if I’m getting one I can use it ... I mean it’s better than nothing right ? Or I can sell it and try getting a B618

Hey, if it's free then go for it. If signal is not good, you can then decide to either install external antenna or get a B618 router.

Thanks buddy I’ll definitely look into this ...

I just want decent speeds that’s all so I can enjoy decent internet fibre gonna take a while
