The point being that it was stupid to give them 50 BMW and equally stupid to make a press statement regarding it. It is supposed to be low key but now the whole world knows what they drive.

If you have ever been on the flats you would know why this was a mistake. Should have given them Nissan Sentra's and Honda Civic's etc...
Yah but bringing in the army in Ratels and stuff would probably have been more noticeable.

I can't imagine brand new BMWs with sunroofs are a common site on the Flats !
You may be surprised if you go and take a look.

Hopefully not another corrupt tender process or some BS. Some years ago BMW actually offered a fleet of cars to SAPS entirely FOR FREE, but whatever tender was in place back then won the day, more kick backs to cadres compared to free BMWs.

Hopefully this lot forms part of a very reasonable / free arrangement too.

Rather have blown the money on training and rooting out corrupt cops.
Trumpet blowing for the cadres.

Informing the gangs, via media, now. ****, maybe the gangs will read the article and get afraid and break up their gang.

Nevermind. Im not going to even bother.
Don't because your point is moot. There's now a specialised gang unit within the SAPS now to help tackle the gang problem on the flats - that's all that matters.

The CoCT has a specialised gang unit with marked cars too - doesn't stop them from doing their duties.

SWAT is marked SWAT... so what?

If they want to do an undercover sting, then they'll go undercover.
