There isn't any reason to be bigoted. In fact it goes against reason as Ayn Rand very clearly illustrates:

The "good" part was a moralisation on the part of the bigot.

Cute, he could very easily have said the following...

Point was, people, regardless of religion/race etc will always come up with a good reason to be bigoted.

Makes the point as he was trying to make it, "people come up with their own reasons to justify their bigotry" adding the "good" in there makes it sound like that these reasons might be valid in his view...
