talk about not answering the questions, they promptly dodged the questions

This is to prevent a situation where a small group of subscribers and / or applications receive a disproportionate share of the available network resources thereby negatively affecting the service provided to the majority of subscribers

Um, I paid for a 1M line - if i'm using it for online gaming, browsing, VPNs or downloading what does it matter? So long as I dont go over my 1M whats the problem?

It's like going "we give you a 1M line, but to make it fair for everyone else you can only go 96kbps, but it's still a 1M line so pay for 1M"

heaven forbid that I should critisize a good cause, but if this site is a new public service and there to help current customers, isn't it just a tad to early to plug in adsense and a classifieds section.

I was under the impression that you first help people and then make them pay?

“Instead of dedicating resources to monitoring and responding to comments made on websites of this nature, we'd rather invite all subscribers to submit their queries via the appropriate iBurst support channels. In this way, specific queries can be tracked and handled more efficiently,” said iBurst.
The only problem with this, and I think most iBurst subscribers would agree, is that the existing iBurst support channels ARE NOT WORKING! Why do they think we have to resort to other means to be heard? Its not as if we like spending precious time and money for those things we would expect iBurst to provide, i.e. after sales customer support. But I guess they are too focussed on getting new subscriber they dont really care much about those they are losing.

The classifieds section is free.

This site will never become about profit or advertising.

Like any site there are costs involved in running it. The adsense will help recuperate some of these costs.

lol at iBurst...the website was started because of their disgustingly poor service and they see no reason why there should be a consumer complaints site...usual crap from another rip off service provider.

“Of course, the suspension of a subscriber account can be very inconvenient and can result in customer dissatisfaction,” iBurst points out.

O'RLY

Like seriously. Who says things like this? Did anyone know if you through an iBurst customer support employee with a rock that he might get hurt?

"In cases where customers have outstanding balances on their account, we've contacted them via telephone, sms and/or email to notify them of any outstanding balances. Where subscribers have not responded or contact details have been inaccurate, we have been forced to suspend or cancel their accounts,” iBurst said.

iBurst just conveniently forgot to mention that they sent out a bunch of incorrect invoices the previous month causing undue stress and confusion among their embattled subscribers. I just wonder how many subscribers actually paid these incorrect invoices. iBurst should come clean on this.

Secondly how can you call a service broadband when about every possible protocol besides http is throttled? Thirdly why the hell is there so many websites that simply refuses to open with iBurst? Are they blocking certain websites?

This company needs to clean up its act and quickly. If not ICASA should take away their licence and give it to a company that knows what they are doing.

Translate: Please use our support blog that we moderate so that only the good ones show. Or if you are feeling suicidal phone our tech support desk. Again.

Is it just me that thinks iBurst SA's various responses sound a lot like what Telkodemonopolies would answer given the same questions?

Yup, thats the one. Far as I remember iBurst was the "best alternative" to Vodacom/Telkom, until one day they sold out to Vodacom/Telkom and well.... hello people: Its now just Vodacom/Telkom/iBurst all are one and the same company.

Service? Thats a word that is defined very differently in the South African dictionary. :p

Wait... Hold up !

Doesn't that make it THE FUNNIEST THING ??

IBurst pays for those ads, and the site owner makes cash from the ads (if they are clicked), so... in turn the site is partly paid for by the very company that is being "exposed".

..in the end, the service levels MUST increase.

I have to quote this vent from the website

iBurst is great

They say the most secure computer is one that is not connected to the internet - that's why I wholeheartedly recommend iBurst, which rarely is connected or working.

Thumbs up for a company that cares about security so much that they block ALL email and ALL smtp servers! And just in case, you also are blocked from using torrents or basically anything that Hitler iBurst decides you may or may not see.

This is so true it hurts :D
