Today my daughter was involved in a smash and grab.Although anti smash and grab was fitted to the vehicle(thickness unknown) on the third try the thief got through which happened in seconds.Stuck in traffic on ah off ramp in Johannesburg she could go no where.I have used Anti smash and grab for 6 years and was under the misapprehension it was reasonably safe. The thieves have either counteracted the problem or it was an inferior product.

Sorry to hear, man. Did the thieves shatter the glass or did the whole thing come out of the frame?

Meh. Just get those fireball things that come out the side of your car. They will run.

Sorry to hear that, at least she's ok. What did they take if you don't mind me asking?

I am not sure about that as I do not have that knowledge of the fact that why glass (spelt correctly this time) should come out of the frame. To answer a previous question he stole a bag full of varsity notes and text books for the final six months of her masters degree.(Should keep him warm tonight).Injuries were slight but as he bit her thumb right to the bone medication is serious and very taxing(my daughter is a teacher)Please note that some of the medication is precautionary only.

Does this happen often in your city? Is it only a certain group of people involved or is the whole population as such? What must I be on the lookout for, should I come visit? Are the other members of the public indifferent to crime? Did no one witness the attack?

I am from Germany. Visit South Africa often though (mostly Ctown and the Garden Route - not Gauteng Province). Well, I don't think Nuernberg (my home town) is exactly a 'hole in the ground'. It looks like I have insulted you or something. Sorry for that. It was not my intention. Please disregard my post if is offensive.

The stuff isn't bulletproof.

It seems to have done it's job properly though.
It gives you an extra second or so to get away, which helps when not in bumper to bumper traffic.

Cape Town. Nice city indeed. Been there on 2 occasions. In 96 and 2001. Next year I will visit again (futbol world cup). Traffic cop? Hmmm . . . Does the word 'Devil's Advocate' mean something to you :D The power of internet is almost limitless. Anyway, thanks for the compliment - is my english that good or is yours that bad :D
