Greets,

I have just upgaded from 128kb to 256kb. However I still only make connections in windows xp at 115.2kb

How do I get it to connect at 256kb? Is there something I need to do? or has Sentech not upgraded me yet. (According to them I have been upgraded twice already :))

Thanks
B

Hmm, well you can balance your upload and download with the tweak test at http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks but I would say call orc-central, open a ticket and join the 2% club!

I think boswald is talking about the "115.2kbps" balloon that the "dialup network connection" icon in the system tray pops-up when a DUN connection is made. This speed only applies to UART baudrate for serial port modems, and should not apply to the USB MyWireless, even though it emulates a serial port. If you like you can change the speed that it reports by going: "Start | Control Panel | Network Connections". Right click on the "sentech" connection, select "Properties", and then "Configure" under the modem on the "General" tab, and change the "Maximum Speed" to "230400" or even "460800" if you like.

Run one of the speed tests (links in this forum - I suggest Rodent's) to see what actual throughput you are getting, but I think you will find that the above setting is not the limiting factor.
