ROFLOL. Piss poor response. And who is "you guys"?

Wow what a retort, did you spend the whole afternoon "googling" that argument for what I have written,

You guys means you Mr Swanepoel, Or are you going to deny that you are web designer?

And the fact that you just shoot down a response because you have nothing of value to add shows your lack of knowledge in the sciences.

Nothing of your input shows you have an understanding of vaccines (or anything scientific in fact) so maybe pick up a science text book and try and learn something, you may actually garnish another brain cell and double your IQ.

From homeopathy to anti-vaccination: why people believe ‘quack science’

British doctor, academic and author Dr. Ben Goldacre is heading to Australia and New Zealand in September for a series of talks, where he will take on 'quack doctors', pseudoscience, and medical mis-information.

The author of Bad Science and Bad Pharma told Yahoo7 that believing ‘quack science’, such as homeopathy and anti-vaccination, can be battled to some extent by people better understanding what constitutes good evidence.

“If somebody wants to write an article saying homeopathy cures cancer then let’s sit down and look at the evidence. Let’s go through the methodological shortcomings,” Dr. Goldacre says.

“Let’s look at the design flaws in the studies and see whether it adds up at the end of it.

“You can go out and access the scientific articles yourself and you could go out and learn the basics of evidence-based medicine and in detail teach yourself how to critically equate every piece of evidence you come across.”

Never going to happen. That is hard work. It is far easier to just link to the Health Ranger's latest blog post on Facebook, or email all your friends a Youtube video about how downing a quart of colloidal silver a day prevents cancer in your small intestine.

As was posted earlier in this thread. This is about feeling more educated and informed and rubbing it in everyone's faces. It isn't about actually learning all that hard sciencey stuff.

Just look at Swa and his high school level understanding of the scientific method trying to tell this forum about how epidemiologists handle causation for a prime example of this. I doubt he's ever read a single epidemiology study. That however doesn't matter to him, he feels further confirmed, further justified, by what he sees as our apparent ignorance on the topic. When we scoff at him it just further confirms for him that he alone knows some secret truth that has eluded us dullards. In Swa's eyes he is the genius (or at the very least above average) and we're all either too foolish or too stupid to comprehend concepts that are so obvious to Swa. It gives his ego a big stroke. Why would anyone want to give that feeling up in favour of hard work and actually reading up on a topic from legitimate sources that consistently use big words that one doesn't understand forcing one to keep using a dictionary to follow what is being said? Doing that makes you feel small and ignorant, especially when you were so confident in your scientific prowess before. Pffffft... that's a sucker's game. Instant gratification is where it is at brother.

"It’s Official: Vaccinated People Responsible For ‘Spreading Mumps’"

I read thru that article. And read the links in the article to the livescience article on the outbreak.
Got to love that the article says:
One ridiculous explanation offered by Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious-disease specialist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Center for Health Security, is that the vaccine only works if the exposure to the virus is low; it can’t be expected to work if there are high amounts of exposure, such as in dorms:

Note the 'ridiculous'. Nothing to counter the explanation, just call it ridiculous and ignore it.
They also ignore what is mentioned further down in the article, that in similar conditions at other universities, a 3rd MMR vaccine was administered and in these universities there was no mump outbreak.

So in fact what this terrible article from mercola.com does is reinforce that vaccines do in fact work.

So lol PhleeBag. Fantastic shooting of yourself in the foot.

But then that is typical of all these "articles". if you actually read thru the links they usually refute what the original article claims.

Poor troll :(
Try harder next time.

Geesus, about a year ago now I thought I was dying when having mumps.

And I have been vaccinated against it when I was younger. If I wasn't I'm sure I would have died :crying:

What response? You have written nothing of value there and only shot down what I wrote. If I remember correctly you still haven't provided any retort to what I presented to you last time around. And what are you going on about web designers and stuff? I have helped a few people with websites over the years but have never commercially designed websites. What does that have to do with anything?

Never going to happen. That is hard work. It is far easier to just link to the Health Ranger's latest blog post on Facebook, or email all your friends a Youtube video about how downing a quart of colloidal silver a day prevents cancer in your small intestine.

Both your sides are acting like you know science when you don't. SOOOO pot... kettle...

So it wasn't effective and you credit it with saving your life? That makes no logical sense.
