A while back i read on a couple of sights (apple insider and engadget) that new imacs were coming soon... but the news seems to have disappeared. Now i am quite keen to get an imac, but i am really waiting for one of the fancy intel i7 or i5 chips to be included, and maybe, just maybe a blu ray drive. Anyone have any thoughts about what we can expect?

Most rumours have focused around a redesign of the case to bring it more in line with the look of the 24" LED cinema display. There have been very few rumours (that I have seen) of specs. Hopefully we will see the mobile versions of the Core i7 processors included. I would be very pleasantly surprised if Bluray is included.

Either way although the rumours seem to have gone quiet - unless you urgently need an iMac now I would definitely wait.

Tuesday and the Apple store is down, also running up to Black Friday in the USA, probably time for a mac refresh.

Wonder if the Mac Pro will see updates?

Black Friday is more than a month away and I dont recall Apple ever being really big on BF specials.

The claimed introductions so far include three models of the Mac mini with one lacking an optical disc drive, a 21.5" iMac possibly carrying a widescreen 16:9 display, and updated AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule models.

Something funny going on on that site, with the huge images.

Anyway, looks like that's the new Mac lineup.

I want the new Mac mini server edition at $999.

Considering Snow Leopard Server on its own goes for $500, you basically get the mini for half price.

Just wondering why they didn't include a second network port?

No DVD drive, but still ships with install and restore discs.

I suppose everyone should give polycarbonate unibody macbooks a big miss till the cracks start showing (literally).
