Does anyone know of any decent, reputable places around Cape Town that can properly service a PS3. I'm not looking to sell a kidney to do what is needed, cos I may as well buy another console if it's over a certain price range. But I also am not under any pressure to sell or upgrade at the moment. Just want to keep the unit running efficiently.

Last I spoke to Partserve, they did not do repairs anymore. I told them about what I'm needing to do on my PS3 a few years ago (cos the console still works, just with the very same minor bugs) and they stated that they would just give me another refurbished PS3 at a flat rate. And I wanted to get to the bottom of what the issue is before I commit to that level of intervention, in case what I need done costs less than what they were charging.

I've used this guy on several occasions and have had only very good service. He is based in Bothasig. His name's Mark

I saw this one when I went to Google, but I checked some of the reviews of his shop / service, and I was just worried about the low ratings that they received, cos people claimed that he completely stuffed up their consoles, and they came back worse than what they were when they were dropped off.

I am trying to avoid any of those kind of experiences, cos mine are minor annoyances, since my console still works, even with the annoyances.

I'll skim through the responses and get their contacts and hear if he does. Thanks.

What is wrong with the ps3 ?

Well, to issues really.

1) When playing GTA V online for longer period (sometimes it's not even that long), the console will occasionally freeze up, and I will have to do a force restart, at which point I always do a Rebuild Database before I continue playing.

2) Out of the all the games I have FIFA 15 loads and I get online, but the gameplay is choppy (offline or online), and the game freezes for a second or two every few seconds. Then if I leave the game on pause, the issue sometimes go away and I can play, but the moment I score a goal or pause it again, the issue returns again. I even tested the game disc at the store I bought it from, and the game plays fine on their PS3.

So I wanted someone to isolate what is cause the above two issues.

But otherwise playing GTA V online and offline (apart from the freezing issue), or Gran Turismo offline / online are just fine.

This dude, he's in the CBD. My friend had two controllers repaired by him.

Friendly guy. Gave me an Xbox 360 controller battery enclosure for free.

Yeah I had Kieltec repair my pair of PS3 controllers before, and they worked fine. But one had the same issue come up again and I was told it can't be fixed. So one controller only now, as the other one is too jittery to use.

So hence I'd like to try somewhere else. Just.
