Any suggestions for a GWM Hover alternative?

Actually, the easy way out is to run in swinging wildly at anyone who dares to disagree with your viewpoint, often attacking the man and not the argument. It takes a bit of self control to read criticism and to actually think about it before replying.

I initially attacked the South African way of thinking and that struck a nerve... It's just too bad...

What is the South African way of thinking? If you may be so kind as to elucidate this point of view.

He bleated on about South Africans being negative and feels (quite strongly it seems) that this is the reason so many (everyone?) dislike GWMs. It never occurred to him that there might be some truth in it.

No, because that might indicate intelligent thinking...;)

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but the Nissan Pathfinder is a option, it is like a double-cab with a permanent canopy, and the storage space is accessible from inside the vehicle.
Cheapest one on carfind is R199,000 - which would fall into your budget.

Sorry BCO, I missed your post. Looks as if we've come to the same conclusion.

Yes i read that Andy. There is also a Croatian guy, who also added a message on that site, and he has tons of pics, info etc. Also, there are a number of Australian sites that use and rave about GWM 4x4s in general. THey have had it for a while and it seems the market there is pretty big for these.

I was VERY impressed with the 2010 model!

Come to think of it, only the best cars are available in Croatia - best we go with the Croatian guy, he obviously knows best.

KLAP to Codemaster! Didn't you know that money was no object???!!!!

It's not about budget - if you read again the Toyota's were also on my list but the Hover is a more sensible deal. The problem is all these people running around in BMs etc and can't buy tyres or send the kids to good schools. Image isn't everything. So, twist it as you will - budget has nothing to do with this thread.

You know what they say about fools - argue with him and he drags you to his level and beats you with experience - so i won't argue with you because you have the answers :) kudos to you
