Is there any users of the Rain 5G standard or premium in the Auckland Park, Melville, Brixton areas in Joburg?
If you know of someone that is using the 5g in the areas please find out if they having any issues.
Or if you are a user whats it like?

Using the rain 4g 24/7 fake uncapped package and its being shared with 6 students and myself. I never get anywhere fast with anything.

Looking to go 5g only if i get good responses and i am not going to want to burn their offices down.

TIA

Maybe sharing a 10Mbps LTE connection with 7 people isn't a good idea?

Well I know and fully agree. but due to corona what ever it is now, my previous boss f@#$ed me around and that was the only internet i had access to...... but changed jobs, and my new boss wants to get me internet of my choice for around R800 PM, only have vumatel here and for 10mbps DL vs rain 5g 30mbps........

Vumatel @ R800 + R50 can get you stable 20mbps. Without slowness...

The rain 5g can be had on a month to month, so I say give it a test run. If it doesn't perform as anticipated, can it....

My sister lives in Melville. I was actually trying to convince her to try the rain 5g product but her complex has fibre and she opted for 10/10 with vox at R719 a month. I still kind of wish she had tried rain.

rain and reliability are polar opposites. more suited to those who just want it to "experiment" any more than that and you're pushing it. fibre's your best bet.

Howzit Gents, Jaaaaa look error free fiber here we Vuma too, lol

So I used the job position that i am in to obtain some local on the field true data collection of having rains 5g here, and its a NO!! I am a security collaboration manager for a residents association and asked the same question as here on the areas 37 whats-app groups available to me, and was i flooded with Capital letters NO NO NO NO! and DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!! Rains 5g runs through the Vodacom towers this side, as some neighbors are Radio frequency geeks and was showed speed test screenshots, Premium 5G package speeds from different peeps the highest "Drizzled" speed was 5.0mbps all for the great price of R999....

So its official light wave fiber is the winner! And going with Vox 20/20. Few years ago a house i was renting the landlord had Vox fiber in and i never ever had any issues.

Gents thanks for stalling me into not wasting bucks and in the end going to burn rain down.... lol

As I type, I feel like I'm in the good old "Dial up" modem days with this mind torturing, death defying spit! Oh shucks i mean speed
Back to Dial up days, lol.jpg

I agree, tell them to cough up R200 each and then share a 500Mbps/1Gbps line.

Not sure why you'd go 5G when you have fibre.

from which ISP is that? Because ive seen the 1Gbps/100mbps packages

Thank Goodness you and your sister didn't try rains 5G in Melville!! I got a friend that stays in Melville and few years ago i got her rain 4G, best speeds ever achieved with every type of LTE sim card router available to man was 3Mbps!! And that was with me standing on the 3 story high buildings roof with a loooong extension and lan cable.

Then she got rains 5G as it seems to be value for money (if you not so clued up), and well that didn't get much more speeds (If it worked which was maybe for 10 minutes a day).
She threw the 5G router out the window, and greeted fiber now.

Effortless, always on, always getting 20 DL and 20 UL, no having to beg non existing ghost support staff for help!! Is her words to me.... LMAO
