Any Vodacom outlet with Nokia E90 in stock?

Waiting for availability of the Nokia E90 is like waiting for the Pope to convert to Islam.

Does anyone know of a Johannesburg/Gauteng Vodacom dealer that has Nokia E90 s in stock (date 25 July 2007)?

VodacomDirect cannot say when they will have stock of the unit.
The numerous Vodashop's that I have called also don't know when stock will be in.

Most if the ZA tel numbers provided on the Nokia.com website simply does not exist any more.

I don't want to port to MTN/CellC as their 3G coverage is not as good as Vodacom's.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Don't hold your breath! For the last two months I have called VodacomDirect at least once every 7 days, but the due (and oh so volatile) date just keeps moving further and further out.

Last week the "official" verdict that I received from VD was 25 July 2007 (today). Needless to say, when I called them this morning, the item was not on the stock list.

VD normally only update their price lists on the 7th of every month.

We live in hope...

BTW: Crown Cellular have E90 s ex-stock... but they are not a Vodacom dealership (only the other two). Purchase price is R8k.

I saw a Vodacom stock list with 27 July as arrival date.

I called VodacomDirect this morning. The E90 is STILL not on their price list. The latest "estimate" is the "first week of August".

Am I surprised? Of course not! :mad:

Well, I email mich@cellucity.co.za (Cellucity, Canal Walk) and Meagan.Hoods@vcontractor.co.za (Vodacom Direct) asking if they would have a similiar special to the one MTN currently has, they both ignored me, so MTN it is... nothing like bad service to make you choose another network.

Congratulations Vodacom!

I just wish they'd start disiplining employees that are useless... the Cellucity mail is supposed to be the manager.

Called them, and on the way to port to them, once it's complete I'll send Vodacom a snotty email.

Hooray... Nokia E90 on the horizon

This morning I got a call from one of the staff at VodacomDirect Handset Upgrades department. He is one the only person at VD that actually offered to call me back (and he DID call me back!)
When asked asked to call me back, the rest of the tossers just said "no, we don't call customers back".

I have signed my upgrade documentation... now I wait. The operator could not tell me when stock would be available.

I am on a Business Talk500 per second contract. I am almost a year overdue for an upgrade.... so I allegedly got a "discount" on the price of the phone... R2000.00 incl VAT.

DAMN... I paid 2k on a ProTalk 120 with MTN.... I wouldnt have wanted to pay a sent on a Talk500 package.

The reason I went with MTN is because they actually do return calls.
