I had an ide to sata converter in my xbox connected to a 750gb seagate sata2.
Took it out though and replaced with a 400gb ide, was more than enough for me.
The xbox processor struggles abit with very large sata drives which is why i took it out, rather get an ide drive and replace the ide cable for a speed boost.

I'm using my PS3 as a media centre but after having a look at those stunning skins, I'm gonna dust off the old box and try this modding thing!

Anyone have one of those action replay things that you need to do the mod? Would really appreciate any help.

Had a XBOX Crystel which I got in the UK, gave it to my little brother as I got the 360.

You must see what the skins look like connected via component cables to an lcd TV.

So pretty, add the media files you want eg. Season 4 of LOST, connect to internet, automatically downloads all fanart and series info on lost etc etc.
Does this for DVD's as well - awesome to look at.
also if you copy full albums - gets cd cover, song info and artist info.
I now get 5.1 surround sound via spdif connection, big difference.
Best to buy one off ebay
HD spdif cable
Composite sucks.

Anyone had any success with this recently? I tried the hotswapping thing, but it got me nowhere, everything still works, but the drive wouldn't pick up. I think it's a bios issue, anyone in Cape Town with old xbox games (e.g. Halo 2) that I could use to update my xbox bios?
