Anybody got a dead HP 530 laptop?

BTW, it is amazing how well that 530 can run with more RAM and a better CPU.

It actually feels like a different machine with a extra gig of ram. I'm sure a decent cpu would help even further but for their use it's fine as it is now. I also disbaled some of the aero fade & animate options which helps.

These are actually pretty decent laptops, I suggested they buy it back in the day when it came out. Seem pretty durable.

Check the specs, it may work in that model. The T7600 works in models that can use the T7200.

A quick check reveals that it may work, just make sure.

It would be a lot faster.

I agree - however the HP 550 comes equipped with the Intel 965 chipset. Your chip is only compatible with the Intel 945 chipset :/

Yes, mine was unfortunately stolen two weeks ago, a bit sad, it was running quite well with a T7200 CPU.

Was going to upgrade it with the T7600, which is now redundant.
