I can't access www.autotrader.co.za or www.property24.com since last week. I have contacted my ISP and I have been informed that the previous two websites seems to be blocking a certain IP range. Anybody else on Seacom having problems accessing these websites?

Noticed this last week as well. Not sure about autotrader but definitely issues with property24.

Apparantly it is only certain websites. It does my head in that something like this can't be resolved, almost as if there is malice between the two parties and the consumer is suffering.

Seacom are trying to strong-arm networks into purchasing transit from them and are refusing to peer openly with networks on exchanges that cost nothing to use.

Edit: I did have quite a rant on this issue, but for now let's set that aside.

I've checked Seacom's Looking Glass and they are learning all of Property24's prefixes through VOX:

Code:
Router: lg-01-cpt.za
Command: show ip bgp regexp 328174

Perhaps provide a traceroute to property24.com

Autotrader is on AWS - And judging by Seacom's Looking Glass, there's an issue there.

Looks like they have neglected to update their peers in Cape Town (NAP Cape Town moved from the 196.10.140.0 range to 196.60.70.0 about 2 months ago). This explains why VOX and AWS sessions are an issue (and any other live sessions in this region probably - their looking glass gives the same results). Maybe send them a ticket and ask them to sort this out.

Thank you for this. I have the same issue and to be honest their strange behavior is getting tiresome.

Here is the response...

Please note that SEACOM hasn’t disconnected Property24, but despite our best efforts to resolve the matter, they continue to filter and block our traffic to their websites.
We encourage you to use the following web proxy in the meantime:
https://de.hideproxy.me/
Please share this with your customers who are having trouble accessing Property24’s websites, namely www.autotrader.co.za and www.property24.com.
When using the proxy, you’ll need to enter the name of the website in the URL bar at the top of the screen.
The proxy will then send the request via a different network in Germany, successfully connecting you to Property 24's network and loading the requested website.
Additionally, you’ll need to initiate all browsing through this proxy, and not via your normal browsing experience.

What, are they trying too say that Property24 decided to randomly block access? Lol

At the moment its our only option.
Waiting on other providers to come online.

How Odd :/

Could have a least set up a proxy locally instead of one further away than the Internal Space Station.
