'Lo All,

Its no secret when doing serious load, in my case disk I/O. CPU load goes through the roof. Some may remember Con Kolivas, and his patch set back in the day. The man is a legend, but has anyone taken the step and tried the patch on a heavily loaded system?

Am about to patch my laptop but since I use my Arch install at the office I cant have downtime. Thought I would get some from ya'll feedback first.

Yes, I'm using it on all our laptops and desktops here. I don't download the -ck patch on its own though, I use the pf-kernel patch because it (usually) includes BFS and BFQ.

I use grsec for the servers though - the users can happily go root themselves, but not the servers.
