Care to elaborate your experience in detail?
Thanks. So far good points for me
1. Impressed with connection to home affairs - didn't expect this one
2. Took less than 5 minutes to submit application.

Tried internet banking, doesn't seem to work. On tymebank app, it says pending approval but I was expecting to login as soon as I received sms saying 'Thanks for joining family'. Looks ok so far to me and maybe it is communication that needs to improve.

Many times - I tried to swipe ... the transaction was declined - happened once, twice too many times. If a card can not do that - then what good is it? Had to call my mom to come swipe for me, do you know how embarrassing that is. Everyone looking at you like you're a criminal who wants free fuel.

So, when your mom came to swipe, did it work every time? Maybe she is not giving you correct PIN?

Has anyone exceeded their R100k goal save limit? Do you only not earn interest on the amount you deposited over R100k or does it mess up the entire goal save account? I ask as I forgot to account for the R1 I put into a goal save to "prime" it. I'd like to think that I simply don't earn interest on my last R1, but have no idea what Tyme does in this situation.

Hey guys, to clarify, you cannot deposit more than R100k into your GoalSave, however, you can gain interest above this limit. If your GoalSave is say, R50k at 9% interest and then you add the balance to bring it up to R100k, you will continue to earn interest at the rate of the initial deposit. So let's say 9%, that would then carry over to cover the entire amount.

@TymeBank when will the Android app be updated to support Android 10?

Currently cannot log into the app since upgrading my OnePlus 7 Pro.

@TymeBank, I tried to link my VISA Debit card to my PayPal account today, and it says it has been declined. Any specific reason for that?

Edit:
Looked around for info about online banking, and seems like oh shucks, no online shopping available yet... Really now.

Under the prepaid electricity function, it refers to "free basic electricity". Please explain if you know what this refers to.

Yup, Probably not important to their target demographic.

If you buy for the first time in the month you get your 100 or so free units determined where you are.

Did you get any answer? Did it work for your earlier android OS phone? I am on 6.0 and get pending approval message.

@TymeBank

1. The interest goes back to the GoalSave, could we not have an option to shift it elsewhere?
2. Although you can't deposit more into the goalsave, if the interest continues to accrue will the monthly calculations take into account the max deposited capital plus earned interest to work out the interest? Or do you only earn interest on the max ( 100k ) amount?

I would gladly like to answer this question. I have roughly 10 goalsaves. Looking at the max one, I can see the capital is added up (so the interest isnt included how you earn ... meaning, is part of the R100k cap).

I can also say its interest on interest. Every month interest is added to the account, and it snowballs.

Hope this answers your question

Nope, no response yet.

Yeah, the app worked on Android 9. Only have the issue after upgrading to Android 10.

My other banking apps work fine on Android 10, so it's obviously Tyme's app that hasn't been updated to support Android 10.

My error says "unsafe device detected" and then gives me the option to launch internet banking via Chrome. I think this is the same error other users on Android 10 have reported a few pages back.

@TymeBank / @TymeGuy following up on Android 10 app support. A response would be highly appreciated.

Hey man, sorry not sure I followed.

So if I deposit R100k into one goal save and assume interest at 9%. At the end of month 1, I should have made approx R750. In month 2, when they calculate interest, is it on the R100k or is it on R100,750?

@TymeBank please can you advise as well?

Its so simple. Lets say a balance of R50

Account opened - Balance of R50
Month 1 - 19c interest (added to R50)
Month 2 - 29c interest (added to R50 + 19c + 29c)
Month 3 - 37c interest (added to R50 + 19c + 29c + 37c)

Your total on month 1 would be R100 000 + R750 (where it was R100k capital and R750 interest)

So the next calculation would be interest on R100 750

TymeGuy -> Please confirm (I am sure it is compounded per month)
