So today I performed my 1st ever transaction to activate my debit card and to test at my local Pick n Pay.
No issues at all.

Lady at the till scanned the card for Smartshopper and asked if i am paying with the same card and all went well.
My goal saves on the other hand are going well,.

Happy Customer.

Yes PnP cashiers have improved a lot. Some scan or swipe smart shopper just and ask if you are paying with it and if you say yes they tap it as they hand it to you. Less than R500 no pin. More than R500 always asks for pin. I basically ALWAYS tap even for large amounts because I like having my card in my hand not inside some machine that has a faulty chip reader. Then you end up with cashier scratching and licking the chip. Yes I kid you not one cashier actually licked the chip on my card and rubbed it on her shoulder because of their faulty POS machine.

Close to 48 hours; same pending for approval. Are you guys really banking with this bank?
72 hours since registration but I received a call yesterday and couldn't hear anything. From call received today, apparently there is hold on my account because of some incomplete information. One can't enter that info during registration. Awaiting removal of that hold now. But happy that system works so far.

Is this a loophole or something?

Their system starts increasing interest rates when you deposit any money. Adding more money doesn't reset the rate. It's thus to your advantage to keep accounts with R1 at 9% for when you can make big deposits.

I got sorted today, also poor voice quality on the phone but at least I could make out what was being said, mine was held up by some ID fraud issues I had previously. I am happy that they seem to be on the ball security wise.

So the app has been updated to support Android 10 now (v1.10.3). Had to relink my device (which took 20sec) but it's all good now.

My only complaint with Tyme currently (and it's a big one) is this stupid profile system. They have verified my address, but I'm still on profile 2 limiting my overall account balance to R50k which makes the account borderline useless. Support say there's nothing that can be done to upgrade the profile (been to the kiosk, logged tickets, etc) and I need to wait until next year. They've been around for a year now publically so you think something so basic would be implemented.

I'm in exactly same position.
Wth are they waiting for...to emerge from the dark ages of pen and paper admin?

Mind you...the fact that online payments are not available a year after launch shows you much..they can hardly be taken as a serious modern Banking institution.

whats the new card look like and is there any way to tell if you reprint that you're not going to just get old stock of the previous one?

Just the logo being added and the placement. Nothing to write home about. Best would be to go to a very busy Pnp.

Only one niggle - if you pay money into your Tymebank account (from Capitec etc) on a Friday afternoon, be prepared to wait until Monday late to get your money.

Just a word of warning.

Apart from that, zero issues so far.
