Yes thought it was a cash payment when I saw the OTP part.

So technically you can now pay anyone online, as long as it's local company?

Yeah pretty much. Online payments secure by Visa which is nice.

Buy airtime online from Takealot or Vodacom website or where ever and pay with card. Allows you to earn smartshopper points when doing so. Pay accounts online too now so no need to do that at the till points.

I have a question about the interest earnings that has been puzzling me.

It seems that it goes up one month, then goes down the next. The overall trend in interest payouts gradually increasing though.

It's probably right and I just don't quite understand how interest is calculated, but it still looks strange. Is that correct?

It’s because of the number of days in a month. Decembers interest will take November’s days which is 30 days. November’s interest will take October’s days which is 31 days.

Where is your Jul interest that should have been received on 01 Aug. Jul and Aug interest should be close because both have 31 days.

@TymeBank @TymeGuy For the first time my card didn't work at Sterkinekor in Watercrest Mall on the FNB Card Machines that they have. Tap and pay was not recognising the card, and when I put the card in and entered my pin, it declined.
Worked fine to pay online though.

Pos machine could be offline or did not go online to authorize.

I've had problem from time to time with FNB terminals...
of course it could be signal or that Tyme was offline at that moment.

In the contrary for me FNB terminals are the only ones I can call a speedpoint. Very fast approval and NEVER declined ever and I used TymeBank for a year already. I use my tymebank card every day at Shell Select for coffees, muffin or cooldrinks and it never fails.

Nedbank speedpoints on the other hand is garbage.

Yep, seems like. Worked fine with my standard bank card though.

Did you retry the transaction or go straight to a backup card? Probably would have went through second time.

I basically tap my card on EVERY transaction no matter the amount. The pin is not stored on the chip anyways so inserting the card into the machine has no point.

I did not retry, since Tap and pay and the chip did not work. Probably should have given it another go.

I always worry I'll be charged more than once if I retry too soon or too often and don't want to be arsed with hassle of trying to get my funds back.

Always have a backup card. Always. You never know what may happen.

Has anyone ever had to deal with their god awful support? My wife has created an account, but accessing it has been non-existent. We've been trying to get her password and pin reset, but the system keeps saying Invalid SA ID or password.
We've tried phoning multiple times, but each time the "support" agent just tells her to reset her password and pin, and after we repeatedly do that and show them it does not work, the agent logs the problem, the ticket system shows the problem is then resolved a few days later, and then she still cannot get into her account or reset her password.

This whole experience has me fearful for the day you actually need support regarding your money, and they just don't help you.

Anyone had any experience dealing with someone at Tymebank that is not a brainlet?

That seems to be a common complaint and is imo their worst aspect.

Perhaps pm the Tyme people here on MyBB? Haven't had to deal with their support yet. Things have been smooth sailing for me.

I think I just might, although I don't think they'll respond. Or they might just say " do the reset pin" spiel again.
