I got myself an account and card at the Menlyn PnP kiosk yesterday.

Question:
It couldn't verify my fingerprints with DHA and didn't ask to verify my smart ID. I had to answer some credit bureau type questions before I could proceed. Is my account fully active or would there be restrictions?
You should be able to see on the app. Hamburger icon on the top right -> "My Profile" -> "Limits". If you're on 500k / 100k, then you're on the highest tier.

Not a very smooth registering process, first off I get a million captcha's which are really annoying and then during the time I take to read the T&C's (yes I'm one of those people who read them) it all times out and I need to start all over.. Ok another 100 captcha's and I'm in.

Then at the end of the registering process it tells me there was a problem with my info or something (it was vague) and it dumps me back at the start again. I try again but now it tells me my ID is already registered. 2 minutes later I get a SMS welcoming me to Tymedigital with account number and all. So what now? I can't login cos I have no password, so I use the "forgot my password" link and do another gazillion captcha's and an OTP and some questions and it gives me a place to enter a "new" password, I do that and bam, it again tells me there's some kind of problem (again not being specific). I figure maybe it worked anyway cos after all the registering apparently worked even though it said it didn't, but no cigar, try login and "incorrect ID or password". Hmmm..

So @cavedog @TymeBank @TymeGuy my ongoing PnP Smartshopper saga continues. It's starting to annoy me now that they can't get this sorted.

I got a SMS 2 weeks ago saying my profile didn't link correctly and will be sorted and points are still being added and not lost don't worry. I checked my points in the PnP App and appeared as maybe some points have been added as it went up a bit so thought "sweet - all sored" - how stupid of me to think that !!!

Today ... try my yellow Tymebank card at PnP Smartshopper kiosk. Says invalid card number. Ok then ...
Do my small shop, swipe Tymebank Smartshopper at Till as normal, says invalid. Get annoyed, paid for my small shop and look on Till ship and says "If you were s Smartshopper you could have earned ...". Earlier this week it was fine and swiped OK and worked (well at least for purchases, didn't try redeem any money off the Smartshopper balance)

So what the hell now ... is my number now not even working or what. This is getting ridiculous, 1st started this trying to get it sorted process on 29 Jan ... gees. Contacted them again asking for them to call me to explain what is going on, which I'm not holding my breath about.

I wonder if this is happening to other people. @TymeGuy said here that they were busy sorting this out ... have they done this? Maybe on of the reps can comment vs just being silent all the time.
Hi. This sounds really frustrating. We'd like to get in touch to try and sort this out. Would you mind sending us a quick DM or an email to social@tymebank.co.za so we can get some details from you? Thanks, The TymeBank Team

We finally have a kiosk. I managed to confirm my details and my limits were increased, but I couldn't print a debit card. It keeps giving me error that it can't print my debit card right now... Any idea on how to get it to work?
Hi. That error code is indicating a printer issue. Please let us know where this kiosk is and we'll have a look into that immediately.

@TymeBank_Team @TymeGuy are yourll aware of the limitless terrible reviews on your other social media platforms?

There is no way that any sane person who reads those limitless reviews will trust Tyme with their life savings or even use Tyme for banking.

Hmm, I must be lucky, maybe I should go buy a lotto ticket  ... Anyway I tried again but this time chose "reset my login pin" instead of password, it allowed me to do that. I then attempted to login using the pin and it directed me to setup a password and thereafter I was able to login.

Had the same issue yesterday at the Pavilion PnP. Didn't see any Tymebank reps to ask for assistance.

I tried to collect a debit card today at my local PnP and the machine couldn't get past the SMS OTP (loading circle to generate OTP). Just gave up while printing was presumably underway and said I need to start again. Tried three times with an assistant next to me and even she said the machine simply isn't working.

So much for that.

Yip, same with me and I still don't have an online banking password. Their call Centre have escalated it. Their SM team has escalated it. But still, unresolved. I'm a ball hair from moving my money out and closing the account. It's a joke!

This thread is too long to trawl through, so I'll ask here: how good is the Tyme debit card? Does it work everywhere? Tyme's own literature claims it's the only card anyone should need, but I can't help but be sceptical of that claim.

I already have a second account with Capitec that I'm going to close, on account of the piece of s**t cheque card that rejects a large percentage of recurring charges.

Doesn’t work everywhere, currently no online support. Also don’t think foreign works either.

Hold up - you're saying the card can't be used for online transactions at all? Jesus, what a waste of my time thus far.

Why does this bank even bother existing then. Old Mutual and Capitec (and Bank Zero if it ever launches) utterly destroy them.

Correct, neither online nor foreign swipes are running yet. Personally think online should have been active before the launch
