Lol yes doubt Eskom will be able to loadshed Amazon web services...
Well, if the nation can't access AWS?

I think that the digital banks will have the same challenge as traditional banks if the whole grid collapses, unless you have cash on hand. Doesn't matter if your card is ABSA, Capitec, Investec or Tyme if the whole country has no power.

After power is back though you should be fine.

Yeah, even IF the datacenter is online, if the ATMs dont have power, you are screwed. At best you can EFT, paypal, etc.

Anyone know how to unlock the full KYC with proof of address? Can I do it myself at a Kiosk? I've got my card already during the soft launch

Doubt it. By the time Bank Zero launches Tyme will already trial their credit cards and other credit offerings. The only placeholder left is "Send money" and it's launching later this month anyway.
And how much of it would be working?

Hahaha! Capitec bank is not much better. I had to go through three branches to find out if the CC credit insurance is mandatory. Someone (after enquiring himself with the branch manager) gave me an email addy that worked. Someone there came back and said it isn't mandatory and they cancelled it for me but for someone on this forum they came back and said it is mandatory lol.
Credit insurance is an obscure term and condition. It's mandatory but you don't need to have it with Capitec. And this actually comes from Capitec's staff. So there you have it they know their stuff and they know their core features. When internet payments were new they actually went and called somebody who knew about activating it instead of shrugging and giving up. Because they send their staff on training courses.

Btw hope you didn't just cancelled your insurance without getting an alternative as you'd then be liable for everything that happens on your card.

No I won't just like with VMCC... It comes with lost card and chargeback protection.

So I went past the Pick n Pay close to me here at Bedfordview and got to print my account with no issues.
Just a quick, while i was going through the stages, i selected the other option to put in my address and not select the addresses listed.

Should i log a call with the call center to verify my address?

@TymeGuy @TymeBank_Team @TymeBank

I sent an email to the Tyme email address listed on the website, and also to the Tyme social media team.

My Gmail just reminded me that it's 3 days and I haven't yet received any response, and that I should follow up.

Who do I follow up with?
Do I send another email that will just get ignored, like the first?
Or do I call the call center, who doesn't take my call for at least 30 mins(after the public launch)

Could you help

I'm getting a bit worried about banking with tyme, it's a very long process to speak to someone at the call centre, and then to there's not much they can do, as everything has to be Escalated.
Emailing receives no response,as well as social media private messages.

We'll have much bigger worries then and it will be back to calculators and pen and paper. Even the corner cafe relies on barcodes.

Which is part of their insurance. But please by all means be a smartass and ignore the Ts&Cs but then don't come crying when things go pear shaped.

Bank Zero will be app only, yuck, much prefer working on a full website if I have the choice, at least Tyme gives that choice.

Agreed. And 22Seven needs the provider to have a full website so they can scrape data. As a result Bank Zero is a non-starter for me.

The printing on the front of my card, including the card number, is rubbing off. Can I print a new card at a kiosk?

No.

Pointless if the wallet you use will just ruin the new one as well. I use an Alumawallet you can get at Game etc. https://www.game.co.za/game-za/en/c/Aluma-Wallet/p/00566964

I don't think it is the wallet. I have 15 other cards including a Standard Bank ATM card that is over 10 years old and the Tyme Bank card is the only one that is fading. I am not replacing my R800 leather wallet for one card. They can issue me another one.

Just had an authorisation failure at Mugg and Bean but Tyme sent me a transaction SMS and debited my account. Guess I now get to enjoy dealing with their support.

We are aware that this is happening with some of our cards and are looking into sturdier printing methods. You can cancel the card at a kiosk and have another issued at the same time, when you're next near a bank-ready kiosk. With regards to the debit, we'll need to get our Card Team to investigate. Please send us your full name, ID and cellphone number and let us know the amount of the transaction and we'll get make sure you get an answer on this asap. The TymeBank Team

Well leather wallets are more taxing on cards. Mine has less space so I had to put two cards back to back and my smart ID card got scratches because of it. Changed my wallet and no problems. Also much smaller to carry around.
