So been fighting with Telkom since November to get them to debit my Tyme Bank account but they can't.

They have been adding R202 per month for failed debit order on my old closed account since November 2018 so that is over R1k just for failed debit orders and they can't debit me from Tyme and they refuse to remove the debit order as that is the only payment option although I manually pay them every month in advanced....

They suggested I change banks....

@TymeBank_Team @TymeBank @TymeGuy How do you guys feel when Telkom actually suggests that I move away from your bank because they can't load a debit order to debit from Tyme Bank?

Hi. Thanks so much for letting us know about this. What was the reason/code for not being able to debit your TymeBank account? Can you DM us the amount, debit order date, and your TymeBank account number, because we'd like to investigate this as a matter of priority. It is very concerning to us. Thanks, The TymeBank Team

While Telkom should be able to debit your Tyme account, how far in advance do you pay Telkom? I pay them between the 12th and 19th and don't get debited on the last day of the month.

Tyme Bank is not listed on their system as an approved bank or whatever the guy tried to tell me but they are saying Tyme bank is not supported and I should change to another bank that is supported like Standard bank for example.

Naturally, we're very concerned about the inappropriate nature of this instruction. We're going to escalate this to the relevant banking authority as well as the Telkom sponsoring bank. TymeBank went live with an EFT environment late in 2017 and all participants were given the required notice to load new banks on their systems. TymeBank receives a multitude of of debit orders from a number of companies on a daily basis, so in that respect, we're up and running as we should be. Thank you, we're definitely going to investigate this.

I love how you only respond to certain things. This is a great quality.

Debit order date is 5th of each month I pay via easy pay, eft or CC card payment online by the 27th of each month.

Not early enough, so that's why they try to run debit orders (and they charge penalty fees if unsuccessful) and why you are having issues. You should be paying your debit order for the 5th, before the 20th.

I thought so so I requested a debit order date change to 19th of every month 2 times already but seems they are failing with that too.

The ONLY reason I'm keen on keeping the contract because it's R525 p/m for the uncapped LTE.

R525 + R200 failed debit order fee

I have sent you a Private message with my name and cell number. I dont think it unreasonable to expect a response within say 24 hours? And I did not send an e-mail. I called the call centre. The call centre agent didnt give me a reference number either, but confirmed my instruction to close the account would be actioned.

Our sincere apologies. Earlier in the thread you mentioned you had sent an email on the 6th of March. Thank you for your DM which we have received, we'll follow up on this case immediately and will ensure that you get feedback on it within 24 hours. The TymeBank Team

My e-mail dated 6th March 2019 was sent to complain about a service you offer, advertise and encourage in partnership with PnP, but which is non-existant. Cash Withdrawals at till points. Tymebank responded to that e-mail on 18 March 2019 by which time I had long since already requested my account be closed.

What a mission to close the account

I've after one week just got off the phone with tyme.
I selected the report lost or stolen card option, as the normal Tyme call center does not seem to want to take calls anymore.
The lost or stolen department took almost 30 mins to answer my call.

Are yourll seriously a bank?
Should someone who's card is stolen and doesn't have access to the net, wait for 30 mins to speak to someone?

At last they emailed Me a form to cancel the account, and I have to get a copy of my ID certified to close the account.

Theres a form to fill in?

Paperless to sign up. 5 minutes to sign up. Yet copies and forms need to be filled in to cancel. Lets see what answers the tyme rep has for me tomorrow.

I'm sure bank zero is going through this thread and ensuring that they don't have any of these countless issues, and have basic abilities available to them, once they launch in the second half of this year.

I hope Tyme is not like telkom when it comes to simple issues and customer service.
Only tyme will tell

I need to close my account just because I cannot change my number linked to the account.
