Pick and pay told me not to come back to deposit money, said it's a risk to them to carry the cash lol
Sadly, I was waiting for this to happen. I can see many stores not wanting to deal with cash deposits. If Pick n Pay gets fed up Tyme, it will just be another Go Banking experiment.

For now I enjoy my high interest, but won't use it as my primary account.

Yeah, the ones using it as a main account are very brave people.

Hi guys

An (uncharacteristically) short note this evening. If any PnP or Boxer store doesn't deliver the expected levels of service, please let us know, and we will see to it that this is addressed. We have a long term, mutually beneficial contractual relationship with the PnP group with very clear service level expectations:
  1. All stores must accept both voucher-based and card-based cash deposits at their tills.
  2. All stores must facilitate both voucher-based and card-based cash withdrawals at their tills.
  3. All PnP staff receive training on the TymeBank proposition, and should be able to answer basic questions.
  4. Till staff should be familiar with the processes supporting Smart Shopper earn and burn, as well as all cash transactions.
  5. PnP staff should ensure that the TymeBank Kiosk's are supported whenever the TymeBank Ambassadors are not present. Ambassadors' work hours depend on store traffic characteristics, but commonly run 40 hours / 5 days per week (Tuesday through to Saturday).
We are working hard to improve the service levels our customers experience across all of our customer-interface points, with a big focus on making information readily accessible so that customers are able to find answers to questions, or solutions to problems, without needing to interact with our staff.

I see that the cashiers have a small booklet at every till, the one page that was open at all the tills in the store explains how Tyme works

And this is a big issue. Checkers never has money available. Last time I could barely get R1200. Tyme allows R3000. Capitec doesn't have a limit subject to availability. Their money market where these transactions should be done strangely doesn't deal in actual money. Ultimately none of them really want you to use cash even though they bank it at the end of the day.

My local Checkers is also no good. They sometimes don't want to give me cash if I don't buy something.

I tried paying at wimpy but the card declined. However, R180 was deducted from my account. Will it automatically be credited to my account or do I need to contact them?

I personally never had issues withdrawing money at PnP Glengarry. Once or twice I had to wait while they go fetch some money for me, but usually a non-issue. Granted I dont witdraw like R1k at a time, but only R250 or so.

Check your transactions on your account, or your sms, if it hasn't been reversed then you will need to contact them. Normally it automatically gets reversed, but sometimes it won't and you will have to contact Tyme and request it to be reversed.

Can someone please clarify if the 10% applied to the full term of the 9% or only the notice period?

I have zero issues with Tyme bank except for the on going issue with Telkom and Tyme is still trying their best to assist to force Telkom to add Tyme Bank as a bank on their system. Apart from that my card NEVER declines and I usually swipe it 2 or 3 times a day depending. App still works fine. Few goalsaves ticking along nicely.

I see that Tyme Bank now charges R40 for a card replacement at the Kiosk. Wish it was a bit cheaper but still not that bad. All the numbers on my card is rubbed off and my card does not scan for the smartshopper anymore they just have to swipe it now.

The cashiers now really know what to do. Today she was SUUUUUPER friendly and knew exactly what to do. Tried to scan it and she saw it's rubbed off so she swiped it. Asked me if I'm paying with it. I said yes. She tapped it while handing it to me. So very efficient process. Swipe/scan then tap to pay. I like it a lot. Authorizations are on par with any other banks and as I mentioned have not failed for me in ages even parking at Mall of Africa works with the tapnpay.

Still using my Blue card at BP for fuel though but my blue card stays in my car just for that and my Tyme Bank in my wallet.
