Am I going to wait 6 months, have to go to CBD or sit on the phone for 5 hours before anything gets done? They've sent me two bills this months - the one looks normal but the other has TWO meters and TWO meter readings.

I remember now that an Eskom technition was installing new meters to replace the old ones a few weeks ago, and think he did something wrong :/

Good luck.

Took them a year and a half to acknowledge I switched to a prepaid meter. In the meanwhile, they kept charging me 'estimated' usage on the meter they took out.

Many visits to Sandton Joburg Metro, a long wait thereafter and they reversed it (though not all).

I think they put as many obstacles in front of you in hopes you'll just give up.

They fked up the valuations last year, charged me through the roof for incorrect rates, this year they acknowledged their mistake and lowered the valuation but didn't write back the increased rates for the period, been struggling from May this year to get it sorted to now avail, thus im inclined to give up.. exactly what they want!

Best part is when they admit they're wrong, but still want you to pay till they rectify the problem.

"Don't want to pay for our screw-up accounting? Oh we'll just come and cut off your lights and water."

CoJ billing is a complete ****ing mess. This new meter rollout is an absolute abortion.
Good luck.

You want to deal with CoJ?
Ask MagicDude4Eva or House.

So true - every month I have to phone them and tell them not to send me MMS invoices instead of the email PDFs I used to get. I am not sure why, but I am starting to think they do this to me on purpose :whistling:

Tell them not to bother, you're going to download your invoices directly :whistling:

Eish we switched to prepaid a while back because they always gave estimated readings even when meter readers had come to take readings, and then they kept putting snotty notices in our gate etc. They are still billing us for estimated usage. I haven't worked up the courage to take a day off work and go sort it out yet.
