You will see I have been quite vocal about SAPO's uselessness for some time and continue to be... Labeling me a "shill" is unfair.

Claiming a refund for any parcel lost by SAPO is also decidedly unfair. You should not be doing it at all in good conscience. You want to use SAPO, factor in the risk, it's not the sellers fault.

What idiot still uses SAPO and then complains about missing parcels....hahahahahahahahahaha

man just use aramexglobal...they also rubbish but at least they faster, can be tracked and have some kind of contact info...SAPO:crylaugh:
 
Morons are everywhere, who pays R170 to ship something that costs R40. I generally use eBay buy small obscure stuff that's hard to get here, using Sapo is the only way, even if you pay for premium shipping from Chinese eBay sellers it's virtually always still coming through Sapo, fail either way.

The point is parcels were coming through and fast, then it changed, that's why I started the thread only to have it derailed by the shill.

I'll have to say it again for illiterate, I have not lost many parcels in the past, I've made hundreds of orders, only now the shipping suddenly speeds up eBay drops the estimated shipping times and then the Sapo slows down back to snails pace, a bit of a trainsmash because if I don't open a dispute within 30 days I'm screwed.

And as I mentioned if an item arrives after a refund is done I pay the seller again. I've also been ripped off by 2 different sellers recently who were subsequently banned from eBay, they never sent anything, they were higher value items, if I'd left it and blamed Sapo I would have been none the wiser.
 
And repeating your piss poor argument, while throwing in insults to boot, makes you look like even a bigger moron.

3-4 weeks is very fast. This isn't 2004 anymore when you measured delivery in weeks. These days it takes months, so only buy on eBay if you can wait 2-3 months,

Always illuminating when insults are thrown with no argument to back them up. If anyone thinks paying R170 to ship a R40 item is common sense then I can only say what is obvious.

I had quite a few orders arrive in 3-4 weeks for a few months earlier this year, I thought the intl backlog had finally be smashed and the systems were running perfectly but for some reason they are back to snail pace.
 
Looking at the estimated time of delivery it seems that eBay is thinking of up to 6 weeks to SA, see below. I have not yet received 9DBI antenna, the doorlock is at the post office but it did not make it before the 11th. I suppose it could if I knew it was at Cape Mail since the 8th. Got the stereo cable so that worked out, the stereo to 2 x mono was not there yet yesterday.

So it's a hit and miss with regards to the estimates, but they are rather high.
 
If I buy a R15 to R250/R300 item off Ebay I'll risk SAPO, anything more than that I either check and compare price+shipping vs local price or don't buy it.

I do the same I've order 12 items off eBay over the past 6 months mosty cell phone & tablet stuff all around R250 and under and they have all arrived. I'm waiting for 3 items but definitely did notice 2 months ago they were arriving quick.
 
I don't want to debate the SAPO thing. Point being is that I order a lot of small components for my son and I. This year up to June I have received 110 deliveries, taking anything between 3-7 weeks, from various locations. All arrived as expected and we harbour no ill feelings to SAPO. However, deliveries scheduled after July simply hasn't arrived, close to 15 orders just seemed to have dissappeared - and two orders after that bad patch has indeed arrived?!! I have good relations with our small local PO in Bellville, the lady even whatsapp me as they don't have much storage. Upon questioning, she is at a loss as to why this may be, but it seems like a ship has sunk or something. Obviously I have called a halt on ebay orders and manage to find this thread in trying to get to the bottom of this... I concur that something is wrong somewhere!

I am also waiting on 4 small items.
 
So I received one of my items today and like my last order that I posted about the collection slip was a final notice when I had not received the first notice. The date stamped on the slip was the 20th August.
 
I've ordered 21 things from ebay under R50 mid July and so far I've only received 10 things. The other 11 items have passed 50 days how can so many things go missing or is there still a chance I will receive them?
 
Yeah i can also confirm there are serious delays all of a sudden. The usual 6-8 weeks has become 90 days
 
I never request refunds. It's the quickest way to have then exclude South Africa from shipping destinations.
 
Where are you guys? I'm in Cape Town, Southern Suburbs. I wonder where the problem is starting.
 
Most of the trackable ones arrive in SA 10 days or so after ordering, then it dissapears into a black hole
 
You are jumping the gun. If there are any issues, air mail takes up to 7 months easily. Delayed at various points with varying tracking accuracy.

Not sure why you are used to much shorter times. I have been ordering every year for the past 8 years and usually end up with something taking 6 months.
 
I've had things trickling in over the last 2 weeks, long after the fact, still a good few outstanding parcels. Really wish our Po system would operate properly.
