Checking on their website they said they have been dilayed due to the large response regarding their adsl accounts as they are now upgrading their infrastructre in order to meet the demand.

Well, by the time they are up and running, they will have lost all those interested customers, and their infrastructure will be too big, resulting in price increases early on in their online life. How predictable.

They already have. Its now 'soon', no more fixed to any specific date.
I guess that's the lesson we all need to learn. Goal promised a really good deal. However, Telkom rules (and owns) bandwidth in this country. Anyone else that promises a good deal, simply won't be able to pull it off.
Untill Telkom decides otherwise, we will remain at their mercy - now all you unworthy internet users: "shutup and pay Telkom!"

Remem the ISP's saying the Goal's offers were very good and they wondered how they could keep running with such a low profit margin. Maybe this was just a case of marketing to get exposure for the time being and never had any plans to offer the service at all till their 'proper' services start end of the year or early next year. Think about it: We all know about GTS now and basically it's a very cheap form of getting media exposure as MyADSL even had GTS in the front page when they announced the 'not yet seen' R228 for 5gigs.

that was my whole point if you read the initial post on this thread. They were probably gonna run at a loss but try gain exposure... then when they got on the front page, that was enough for them.

I know its SAIX 's fault the prices are high but heck, that was just an extra irritant. Thats why I started this post 2 months ago - because I knew what was gona happen.

Well the diff is GTS don't need to run at a loss. If they do offer the service then good for them but for now they getting free advertising with all the hype the members have caused. Just taking advantage of the situation. Other ISPs would run at a loss to gain exposure but GTS is losing nothing and gaining exposure.
