I would really appreciate it if you could PM me. I want to take the plunge but I first wanna make sure my Laptop can drive that kind of resolution...

Does your laptop have a displayport connector or 2 DVI connectors? If not then it won't be able to drive that resolution.
Standard HDMI also only goes up to 1200p and not 1440p.

As for the specs, it doesn't say what version of HDMI it supports, only that it supports 1080p.
So no idea if it will work or not on HDMI. Try and see I guess.

I dont see how this laptop is gonna have anything less than HDMI ver 1.4b in which case should work FINE

Those specs could definitely be wrong - It also don't see why it shouldn't be able to display higher resolutions than 1080p.

The "dual cables" thing refers to DVI.

And that's also wrong. Dual-link DVI =/= 2 cables. It's a type of port. Most graphics cards have 2 dual-link DVI ports, laptops have 1 or zero.

Old article but it explains what dual-link is. It's still one cable and it's pretty much standard by now.

confirmed, there is a workaround to get 2560x1440 working on HDMI but it requires some dodgy stuff and limited to 55Hz

yeah but Im on a laptop, so I dont know if I can be that sure it work on mine.

Incredible Connection dont even know what Im talking about, the guy said I must rather get a full HD screen..

Samsung store dont have stock either. I wonder where I can get my hands on one. Hmmm

Maybe provide some details on this mysterious laptop. Like, for instance a brand and model number. Google can answer most of these questions you know. It's pretty easy to look up the supported specs for a specific model.
