I connect and the net works fine for a bit, like 30 seconds and then i get 'document contains no data' all over the place, and i can't check mail then, download, nothing, its like i'm connected except.... not

i'm supposed to send a test about programming with splines and vectors to get an internship with a game company today and i got up nice and early to finish it and send and now its been 3 hours and I can't do a damn thing, i'll probably have to recconect just to submit this thread. whats going on? and don't refer to the network status message of yesterdays degraded international activity, because its local thats not working too

I got that last night until I stopped my download manager. It was taking up all the bandwidth [capped]. Would that have anything to do with your problem?

[edit]
Actually, now that I think about it, I reboot every couple of days to avoid a similar fate. WinXP+SP2 seems to decide that I've been connected long enough [3+ days], and does exactly what you describe. I can connect, and all seems fine, but nothing works. A reboot solves that for the next 3 days or so.

Seems to be related to their proxy imo

I've been using a ssh tunnel to my US proxy since last night...

ok here's the thing, its not only HTTP so it can't be the proxy and another intersting thing is when it dies and i go to say google.com i get 'Document contains no data' however www.iburst.co.za always works 100% of the time, thats how I know its nothing on my machine

I think DarthVader needs to have a look at this one .. could be return path data for international ...

Do you have the problem on other local sites slim ?

Slim, I have been experiencing the same problem every now and then, but on a Diginet line from IS ... started about a week ago. So it might not be WBS, I dunno?

iburst said:
One of our upstream providers is experiencing latency on international peering. Subscribers may experience degraded international connectivity.

We're on a diginet line through IS, and I'm getting the same error for international sites ATM, for what it's worth.

UUNET is not WBS's only provider ... so maybe it's related to rathlin's comments

I have the same problem lately having to refresh pages a few times before I can get to them, so whatever it is also affects CT as well.
Normally I do not have the same problems that many post here, but this time it seems that wbs changed something that affects the whole network.

This is ridiculous, WebPages won't load, IRC won't connect, and this is really becoming a problem. Does anyone have any info on this? Is it only affecting to capped users?

Something really fishy is going on...I'm not even receiving bandwidth usage reports from them as I used too. This degrade in service happened just after I reached my cap, I hope not this is what capped life is going to be like from now on!!!!!!!
WHAT IS GOING ON??????????
