Anyone here on BestMed Medical Aid?

I am currently with Discovery and paying roughly R3k pm for something I barely ever use. I came across this article sharing how people liked BestMed when it came to service. Sent them an email and they can offer me something similar for R2100/R2800 depending on how much coverage I want.

Is anyone here using them?

I've been with them for about 25 years. Service is generally excellent, except for one dumb incident about 10 years ago.

They pay the doctors and chemists quickly enough that I never get a reminder about outstanding balances. Requests for authorisation for hospitalisation and chronic medicine are handled quickly.

When I compare what my family at Discovery get, I think that is ok to stay with Bestmed.

My mother in laws was with them. They were really good to her. They paid for all of her cancer treatments. Sadly she lost the fight...

My parents are with them, incl their gap cover. Haven't had any issues with claims

Isn't this pretty much the same with all medical aids. The only time there is an issue is when you think they cover more than they do.
