Anyone know if this is a decent Android tablet?

looks like just another Chinese iPad clone (not that there's anything wrong with that, I'm actually looking for a nice one myself)
Even the product specs seem copied from the Chinese suppliers site:
* Last time:10 HOURS
* Video play last :4 HOURS

I saw a version 2 of this on BidorBuy with a built-in webcam going for a bit more.
Only chatted to one person who's bought the version. Did not match up to expectations.

Rather wait for the line of Augen tablets. I read about a 7" tablet that is utter crap the other day, so now I'm weary of any 7" Android tablet.
Mail them and as about it, the people at zaps are quite honest.

For that price, it's very tempting! As long as it isn't made of crap, though...

Anyone have any idea if its any good?

I've got the same or very similar google hiapad.
Although that product spec seems to indicate android 1.7, i know the rockchip tablet cannot do better than 1.5.

The good (for me at least) Battery life better than expected 4-6hrs
Plays avi, from usb flash drive.
Convienient nice form factor.

The So So
Screen ok not as good as desire but usable
WIFI works well but bit down on signal strength.

The bad
Keep getting force close in any browser, once cache gets too about 10mb(guess not enough internal memory)
USB modems do not work(APN hard coded to Chinese mobile networks)

Is it worth it? I'll keep using mine until a decent android tablet costs about R3000, then switch over and donate this one to my boy.

I've got a few different android tablets available in Cape Town including the rockchips with aluminium body if someone in the mother city wants to take a look. The 10 inch is very nice but might be overkill for some. There's a new telechips tablet running android 2.1 as well.

Do you perhaps have a link to a price list? No sense in looking if I don't know beforehand if I can afford it :)
