Yes, I'm not concerned about the services and parts ( I am aware it's a sports car ), I'm more worried about buying a lemon without knowing what to look for.

Porsche don't make lemons.

The only real problems with the Boxster and Cayman are that the 911 is the iconic Porsche to own, and owning one of the others just says you couldn't quite afford a 911 ;)

That's many the case from the uninformed's point of view.

However when people like Chris Harris start rating the (new) Cayman S as one of the best all-round cars stating they would rather own that for less money than a 911, you have to start wondering which one is really the poser car?

Also you'll find the 911 is probably maybe 5% better (if at all) while costing 40% more.

Cayman seems to be every bit the driver's car while the 911 is a showboat from a previous age.

Unless we start talking GT2's and GT3's...that's a whole different story.

Yeah I know the Cayman's a fantastic car all round. Just yanking some chains a bit.
But yeah, for me, give me a 911 GTS. A bit more affordable than the GT3 and nearly as hardcore when it wants to be...

Plus the Cayman GT4 looks like an amazing car!

Maybe the 1st gen - just like the 1st gen X5 or ML. I think the new ones look fantastic, especially in GTS guise
