Hi all.

I'm interested in purchasing the Nexus 6P through Cellucity (I figured it would be the easiest option as opposed to importing it through Orange) but when I called the Canal Walk store to ask if they had stock I was told they might not even be selling it at all and they had no idea when they'd even get the device. Does anyone know when they'll be getting stock or if you've purchased it through Orange how long it took to come down?

Thank you!

Cellucity sells Vodacom stock, Vodacom does not bring in the nexus range as Google does not allow them to make any modifications to the os nor allows them to limit or restricted updates in any way like they do with Samsung, htc, etc.

You want one in SA, the only way is importing and as orange has a local presence and dir3ctly sells locally it is not a grey import and fully covered by all warranties.

No, no...

Cellucity have made the Nexus 6P an option on their Pre-order list online. It looks like they were gauging interest.

I signed up for the pre-order with Cellucity as soon as I found out about it and have been receiving updates via SMS. They will be offering the 6P on Vodacom contracts from this month. The exact date is unknown, but the most recent update said the stock will arrive soon. I'm going to get mine via Cellucity as I'd prefer a contract to upfront purchase.

The stores often don't know what's going on. Cellular providers seem to have very bad communication with their store representatives. I contacted the Waterfront store recently and all they knew was that they would be receiving the devices at some point.

When I asked Orange how long it takes for phones to get here, they said up to a few weeks. They order them individually from the UK when people order them in SA.

I will post here if I receive any further updates.

Sign up for the pre-order to show your interest if you haven't already. Also, specify your color preference in the message box, as Cellucity mentioned at one point that they weren't going to be offering all the colors. http://cellucity.co.za/pre-order

Here's the latest MyBroadband article about it: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/smartphones/147397-google-nexus-6p-south-african-pricing.html

Thank you for the replies. I had the device on pre-order but after being told they were not sure when they would be receiving the device I bit the bullet and upgraded to the Galaxy Note 5. The phone performs very well despite running touchwhiz and the battery life is amazing. Oh well, maybe I'll get a Nexus when this contract is due again.

Cellucity's contract pricing is totally crazy! R14 376 for the Nexus 6P entry level device!

I got my 6p yesterday after ordering it while Zuma was changing finmins. Glad I jumped as I got the 64GB for less than a 32GB now.

From orange. Can't go wrong IMO. I even returned a Moto x play and got a full reimbursement.

I just called the Clearwater branch to hear how much it will cost on the uChoose Flexi 350 contract and they said they will only be expecting stock at the end of the month and they can't give me a price

Asked Cellucity for prices: uChoose Flexi 350 is R679 pm

They are bringing out the Nexus 6p in 64GB white variant and they hinted on a free gift.

Stock is expected at the end of the month or the first week in Feb

I doubt they will get them. Too expensive with exchange rate now.

Could be that they already placed the order and just waiting for the stock. Guess we will just have to see

So I got contacted by CellUCity and they said that the stock will be delivered in 14 days in Cape Town.

They have upgraded the model from a 64GB to 128GB and it will come in Black with no additional charge and there will be a added bonus of a bluetooth speaker.

The latest from Cellucity:

We can finally confirm that our stock of the Nexus 6P will arrive in Cape Town before the 25th February.

All clients will be upgraded to the 128GB version at no additional cost. The device will only be available in black.

In addition to the above, all clients will receive a complimentary bluetooth speaker valued at R399.

Despite the weakening of the rand and the increase in device pricing, we have maintained the deal pricing from R599pm.
