Its foam so it will be very very hot. I've got a Latex pillow and cannot use it in summer. The Tempur uses a generic form of Latex (Latex is a trademark).

I use to be in the bedding industry. Would like to comment that pillows are so personal that until you try it out, no amount of advice (except the heat issue) can assist you here.

(Personally I use Simmons pillows the spring core, but my wife hates them. She sleeps on a refillable pillow that uses little Styrofoam balls)

I bought one after seeing you talk about it in another thread and tried one out, very happy, was looking for a decent pillow for a while. :)

True, wife and i got Tempur pillows (cant remember type).
But like yesterday, after playing golf in the heat, and even with aircon on, the Tempur was killing me with regards to heat. I changed to another pillow (could explain my slight stiff neck - dont get this with the tempure pillow.

Which one Mila? and does it get too hot?

Thanks

I can not say it is hotter than any of the others on my bed. We have 7 pillows on the bed. Two hollow fibre, Two Duck down, Two that I bought from Volpes ( some or other weird stuffing ) and My Tempur pillow :)

I have the original pillow.
http://www.vitalitymall.co.za/p-4143-the-original-pillow-by-tempur-medium.aspx

I hurt myself about 90% less than I did on a normal pillow. ( Was a Tummy sleeper but has cured myself)

For the first time I know why people take their pillows along on holiday. I'm already planning my baggage around my pillow for our trip to Thailand next month.

I would buy a tempur bed If I had the money. :)

A good quality pillow protector will help to cool it down. I think the Tempur comes with one? Also get some proper Egyptian cotton percale percale (very high weave count) pillow sheets, improves the comfort and reduces the heat even more (feels like sleeping on silk).

You need to get something with a high thread count of > 400, anything lower than that is not worth it. Also contrary to belief, percale describes the weave and not the cotton/poly blend.

I totally agree that its a personal choice and you must try different pillows out.
Tempur isn't latex though (the closest generic would be "memory foam") I sleep on a Tempur pillow and don't find it hot.
- agree with 'cbrunsdonza' - pure cotton percale linen is a must!

I started this thread in 2011 :wtf:

As an update, I ended up purchasing this last year after going through a couple other pillows.
