I am looking for a ISP for a client of mine in the Cape Town CBD.

I see MWEB has a Business Wireless Uncapped & Unshapped service for R2795. Linespeed 4096/1024.

Anyone using this service? Would you recommend it?

What contention ratio do they have on these links?

You do know that MWEB cut all local peering?
That's a bit of an inaccurate over-dramatisation of the situation.

MWEB merely refused to pay for peering any longer, rather preferring to exchange traffic bi-laterally with others in a settlement free manner at the industry appointed peering points.

It is only Telkom who refuse to exchange traffic with them in this way, insisting they deserve to be paid for any such interconnection.

All other SA ISPs are accessible locally.

Contention ratios aren't published, so nobody knows. For a business offering something in the 20:1 range is the norm though. Shouldn't be an issue though.

Is there a specific reason that it has to be wireless? You can probably get comparable ADSL for a grand less. If its for business use & its ADSL, you could also look at a high cap product. Businesses generally use the protocols that are prioritized anyway, so even the unshaped is unnecessary.

I've no experience with it, but it should be pretty decent. Given that even their R219/pm consumer grade offering is pretty decent I doubt their business
offering at 10x the price will give issues. Just make sure its not a long term contract. ;)

And this is relevant to the OP because...?

Mainly looking for a product with a better upload speed, but have since been told by MWEB that they are not selling this product at the moment.

Few things beat HSDPA on raw upload speed. Thats assuming you've got solid reception & can live with the insane pricing. The webstorm pricing looks very good though...maybe check that out.
