Hi,

I am interested in getting Neotel fibre service. My business is in Midrand and I am looking for a 20Mbs symmetrical service with low contention ratios. Is anyone using Neotel? What is your experience of their fibre service?

A client has 7 neotel business lines... no complaints

We use their 100Mbps service, but we are busy switching providers.
It used to be great, but we have been plagued with horrible speeds from our servers in AWS (Ireland), most of the time getting sub 4Mbps. Neotel keeps throwing contention ratios in our face, and refuse to actually help us resolve the issue. Their support is fine until you start confronting them about the blatant lack of accountability, then they get real arrogant, closing calls without feedback. Our account manager is less than useless.
At this point we get better international throughput from our backup DSL line. All this, while other service providers are offering us the same contention ratio at half the price.

On a positive side, we have had more than 99% uptime.

We're using their fiber service and to date we have zero complaints. I would definitely use them again.

Check their T&C very, very carefully when it comes to cancellation. The new T&C they have is IMO quite bad. After the initial 2-year contract period, the contract auto-renews for 1 year at a time, and doesn't become month-to-month like we were promised, if you don't give notice of cancellation well in advance. They billed us a large amount for this when we cancelled, but luckily we had signed the older T&C that didn't have this provision, and we told them to stuff it. Of course, they couldn't find the T&C we signed, and just assumed we agreed to the latest.

In terms of performance and uptime, they were really good. Just couldn't compare price-wise to some newer offerings.
