Beaten please, I put my case foward and stated why I support ANC. What more do you want. Dont blame me for your failure to change my mind. I am still ANC. What party are you by the way?
If you are unwilling to change your mind when entering into a debate, the purpose of the debate is meaningless. For me, the joy of a debate is the ability to influence others and be influenced by others. I find debating with someone who is closed minded a waste of time.
I don't blame you for your failure to change your mind, that is your choice, but when you are presented with an overwhelming argument that fails to make you change your mind, I will refuse to engage you any further, as we would reach a deadlock.
What party I vote for is immaterial. I have no loyalty to any party, and will choose the party that I vote for at election time on two criteria:
(1) What party's policies best suit my interests
(2) How well I believe that the party will be able to implement those policies. In making this decision, I will take into account the calibre of people in the party as well (where applicable) as the historical performance of the party (in this case, there are only two parties that I can judge on this criteria - The ANC as head of my province and the country, and the DA as head of my city).
As I said on the previous thread, I regard it my duty to defend democracy, and democracy functions best when people have no loyalty to a party, but perhaps are loyal to the people in the party.
