Very vaguely speaking. Individualism and freedom are mainstays of US/Western culture, but that is already changing. We see more and more Individualism is being suppressed in favor of the "collective good".

What I don't understand is this:

They escape "socialism hellholes" in their own countries, why would they vote for the same party in US that tries to emulate that?

Don't get me wrong, with our taxes here I'm pretty against government spending and most social policies as the government just steals the money anyway, but the argument does not make sense as to why those people would vote for the same thing again.

You are free to read it. Freedom within reason. What you do in your own private time, is your business as long as it does not hurt, harm(Physical, mental or emotional) or through consumption or in pursuit of your activities cause harm to others.

He has been building a political base since he has been out of office, getting directly involved in the campaigns of congressmen and senators .
