App store error

I'm constantly getting an 'Cannot connect to iTunes' error when trying to download the free app of the week. Anyone knows what's going on?

Firewall / proxy ? are you on an open network ?

I got this on that app as well when on Vox, switched to WEbAfrica and it downloaded.

Search on Google for Apple DNS for iStore. Seems like a common problem and replacing with their DNS mitigates the issue until the AppStore crashes which has happen twice or thrice in the last 2 weeks.

This happened on open networks. Afrihost, Telkom and Vox accounts as well as using Afrihost's mobile APN and MTN directly.

Hard rebooted my phone probably for the 3rd time that day (trying to fix the app store error) and then it started working again. Odd.

Also had issues and had to switch to isp's DNS instead of googles.
