Awesome, some nice updates for apps I never use : Facetime, iMessage, Apple Wallet, Apple Maps, Safari.

Looking forward to the iPadOS widget placements and Safari extension support mostly, but great list of new features all-round (most I will also probably never use lol)

Interesting

Wonder why private relay can't be offered/enabled in South Africa??

Apple will also support digitising US ID documents — like drivers’ licences — and saving them on their wallet.

This can then be used as a valid form of identification in participating states in the country and will be integrated into Transportation Security Administration systems at US airports.
A man can dream. Maybe someday for us too.

I am also hoping for this. But or IDs were just updated and our licenses are being looked at. Hopefully (but I doubt) they will keep this in mind.

This will finally realize my empty pockets dream.

Ideally, make it digital and allow me to renew online using systems at the optometrist and send to my iPhone/some digital device :)

A new feature in Photos dubbed Memories can use machine learning to collect photos into relevant galleries or animations and add matching music from Apple Music.

This has been available for a couple of years?

I'll wait until a more fleshed out reason emerges, but I think they're taking this step like Mozilla did with their VPN venture -- rolling out slowly across certain geographic areas as to not overwhelm their servers and keep up a certain degree of performance until it's adequate for a wider rollout.
