Telegram CEO slams Apple for blocking paid content posts that bypassed 30% fee

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has criticised Apple after his instant messaging platform was forced to pull a feature from its iOS app that let content creators make money without paying a portion of it to Apple.

In a blog post on Friday, Durov explained that some content creators on Telegram started using third-party payment bots to sell access to individual posts in their Telegram channels.

Quite a few developers and companies don't seem like to like Apple much ...

Can't one pay for a sub on the web and then use the credentials in the app?

Like say NordVPN does, or any one of the various closs platform games out there where you make purchases via IOS apps and by Android ones, PSN and the web for PC/Mac users.

What do Apple actually check?

As part of its push for more open payment systems, though (and to dodge each platform's 30 percent fee), Epic boldly pushed out updates to the Android and iOS apps that switched the payment processing from the platforms' in-app purchases to Epic's in-house system.

There are many here who also protect Apple's, Google's, etc, business practices. All was vented in the Epic versus 'all' lawsuit thread. I don’t support walled ecosystems, I do believe that there needs to be interoperability and in-app exclusions. The same will happen to all these ‘metaverse’ ecosystems. It is a massive revenue stream.

You guys should look up how much money PUBG made Google and Steam/Valve respectively.
