Strange how a few weeks ago someone claimed that apple makes the best displays in the universe...

From : http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/apple-display-update,1747.html

In what appears be the first move toward censoring discussion of the issue, Apple Support has locked the discussion thread Bought new iMac 20" Faded Screen, which began on August 7 (the day the new iMacs were first sold) Compare Prices on iMac 20" Computers. The thread had, until it was locked earlier this week, served as the major focal point for discussion of the gradient color issue that continues to trouble owners of 20" and at least some 24" 2007 iMacs.

The discussion thread had seen a recent surge in activity since it was mentioned in the article below, and since the beginning of the holiday shopping season. From August 7 to November 18, a 95 day period, the thread chalked up an impressive 15,000+ hits, an average of about 158 hits per day. However, in the time since then, November 19 to December 10, a period of only 21 days, the thread gained an additional 9000 hits, an average of about 429 hits per day.

Further exacerbating the censorship matter, new posts regarding the gradient color issue are being deleted and replaced with error messages, as seen in this example: iMac Screen Gradient - What's the next step? (we captured a screen shot of the post before it was deleted). Apple has not replied to any of the posts regarding the gradient color issue in its Intel-based iMac Display support forum, or for that matter, even acknowledged the existence of such an issue.

I'm calling BS, many threads on Apple's board (even started by myself) with complaints and Apple do not censor them.

There is more to the story here.

the way you apple boys defend that company is astonishing...

Most windows users are 100% OK to say out loud that the complete Vista OS was a massive fail, yet when a thread gets locked on the apple site due to many complaints it's simply BS...

are you sure they aren't brainwashing you guys somehow?

when something is off you admit it. if you are an nVidia fanboi it's OK to admit that the 8400gt is a POS.

LOL. I have had my thread closed and posts deleted on there.

All I did was ask them why their iPhone sales campaign in South Afica was headed with the slogan "100's of games available" (or something similar) if they never intended on releasing the games in the app store.

that was it. Post deleted and thread closed.

And yea. Thats an OLD article...

I also had a post deleted, but I never read the rules and my post was against rules. I just asked about a nano iphone concept.

Indeed it is. As a long-time user (haven't touched 'doze since 95) I have had my fair share of ups and downs with Apple and I find many of their practises - past and present - utterly shameful! The product itself is fantastic but there are just too many buts:
The Apple Mac is great BUT a hackintosh with double the spec can be built for half the price...
...yes, BUT the Apple will last twice as long...
...and that's great BUT the OS and hardware will be deprecated...
...yes, BUT it will still work just fine...
...yes, BUT you simply cannot get media for the optical drives...
...yes, BUT you can upgrade the optical drive...
...yes, BUT it would be to another MashIta drive that sucks ass and is overcharged and and and and

I may be a fan boy but there are many things that really irritate me that I just put up with for the OS. I can say however that my next Laptop will probably be a PC but Linux-based not Doze...

This does not mean I am turning away from Mac - anything but that actually. It just means that money talks and right now it is shouting there is so much of it going to Core. It is shouting real loud "BYE GREG, YOU SUCKER! NEXT TIME BUY FROM OVERSEAS OR GET A PC". The arrogance of Spoondike and her girlfriend Bullard only serve to amplify that message.

Edit: I now know why searches for Mashi ta drives result in nothing on this forum - the middle part is censored out. Hopefully edit takes care of that - it is the brand name after all

....

I only defend Apple when a windows fanboy starts a thread with fighting words, if the OP was balanced I'll be even handed.

I don't think apple makes the best products, but if a windows fanboy with no mac experience starts bashing that's when I become the mac enthusiast. ;)

agreed.

~90% of Mac users who comment on the "Mac vs PC" debate have moved from a PC to a Mac.
90% of PC users who comment on the "Mac vs PC" debate have never actually used a Mac.~

'Nuff said.

Apple has/had a very long history of removing posts, mine included. They changed this some time ago, but also limited their presence to volunteers. It sounds like a revival of their controlling behavior (also a common moan amongst employees at Apple).
