I unlocked my iPhone, and can make calls on Vodacom, however cannot receive calls. On MTN, CELLC can make and receive calls, anyone know why?

I have tried various Vodacom sim cards, all can make calls, but when you phone the number the person calling you gets an error.

Thanks

What error do you get? Have you made sure all call forwarding settings etc. are disabled?

I used ibrickr to activate the phone and copy the files accross and install the applications

then logged in with PUTTY and ran,

cd /usr/bin/
chmod +x iUnlock
chmod +x minicom
launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
iUnlock ICE03.14.08_G.fls nor

then ran the following AT commands in Minicom

AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000"
AT+CLCK="PN",2

thats it.

Ok - you win - a what?

Apple storm trooper with light pockets :p

...or a South African getting the rubbish end of the exchange rate I suppose ;)

Back on topic: I dont see SA listed as one of iUnlocks tested countries, maybe Flight should get in touch with them and be their SA tester?

And update us as to what happens, I'd be dead keen to see what all the fuss is about.

Dude that is the Chip in fee ... on a 2 year contract
Explain that to me? My understanding is that you can walk into a Apple Store and walk out with an un-activated iPhone.

You then activate the phone with itunes and apply the software hack before the AT&T registration. (That's according to the iphonesimfree.com site)

**feverishly searching Engadget past entries**

...Spot on bwana! dead right, in fact I seem to remember murmurs about the whole activation process having circumvented.

SO whats the price you'd pay in total to get it here. The $299 one?...
Its such an awesome phone (well, looks like it) BUT we get stuck with the normal rubbish, and if it ever gets introduced to us, you'll have to get it on the Talk2000 and prob still pay in like R4000... ugh
