Apple joins browser wars

Am using it at the moment.

I must say, first impressions are pretty good.

Installation was painless, the interface is aesthetically pleasing, and I was able to log onto my internet bank without any problems. All the websites I have been to so far have also been displayed perfectly.

Itunes doesn't look that bad :p

I have already found 1 problem though.. The 1st page i visited :/ Greenlabs side menu doesn't load.. So unfortunately i wont be using it.

But i must say its not a bad looking browser. If anyone finds a way to get that side menu to work let me know via PM please..

Yep, I don't like that iTunes look too much (sorry bwana) and I don't wear polo necks.

It will certainly be useful to be able to check out pages in Safari without having to fire up the old Mac that is kept around for just this purpose.

Guess I'll have to install the PC version and see if it as good as the OsX version.

I wont be upgrading to 3 on my macs until the plug-in developers catch up.

EDIT - dang but its ugly on windows!

The mac version of itunes (and now safari) and the pc version look like they're from different planets so I dont blame you for not liking the way it looks on a PC.

September? Getting a new mac then?

Another Problem, My mx518 doesnt work 100% with it.. i cant use the side buttons to go back and forward in my page history.

Just installed it and I don't like it that much either.

1. The horrible grey colour.
2. No explanation of weird icons(when you move mouse over icon)
3. doesn't minimise when you click it in the taskbar.

The only reason hundreds of thousands of windows users use iTunes is because it is the only thing that works well with their iPod.

Considering Apple's fetish for making their products incompatible with the rest of the world, I'm loathe to start using this browser because I am convinced that there will be certain sites I won't be able to access. Will flash or java even work on this thing? I suppose quicktime will no longer be a problem though...

Don't like the look of it either. Will stick to opera/firefox for now

Not another browser to develop for... My job is hard enough already! :(

lol dude Safari has been out for ages and you should have been developing for it already :D

I agree it looks terrible, seems to be very slow and crashed after 5 minutes. not sure I'll open that again unless I have to.

Finally, someone see the light. Apple arent as brilliant as everyone makes them out to be.
